Pours thick dark black coffee with a big creamy dark cocoa colored head. Aroma brings the coffee big in the nose with roasted malts and dark cacao. Flavors are rich with big coffee and chocolate on a creamy thick but not overbearing body. The coffee is so smooth and not bitter at all, blended perfectly on every sense.

black with thin ring. Coffee rules nose, huge after Earl with some ash, faintly green. Front palate is all coffee, seamless transition into a chocolate mid palate, light grinds and bitterness through the full, sweet decadent end. Best coffee beer Iíve had in years.

Growler from the brewery. Perfect coffee stout, total balance. Deep black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aromas of mainly medium roast coffee. The taste is coffee, fudge, some sweetness maybe caramel, bitter notes as well. Medium mouthfeel with crisp bitter notes on the back end. Excellent coffee stout all around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler from the brewery. Jet black with a 1 finger tan head. Aroma is delicious coffee grounds with a hint of chocolate. Taste is coffee forward with a hint of chocolate. Caramel finish as the beer warms. Light fudge and marshmallow notes poke their head out. Bitterness from the coffee perfectly balanced by the sweetness of chocolate and caramel. Solid thick mouthfeel. Slightly sticky and surprisingly strong carbonation. Really excellent.

Growler poured into a wine-style tasting glass. Pours black with some brown hues and a tan head. Aroma has huge amazing notes of roast and coffee, along with some caramel and chocolate. On the taste, big amazing roast and coffee notes again, with caramel, chocolate, and espresso. Full body with a semi-dry finish, very smooth. The coffee is really well done in this one.

I picked up a number of 32oz growlers of this at Pizza Boy. I donít typically rave, but about this, I need to. First thing you notice when you crack the growler is the wonderful inviting aroma of coffee, not overly roasted or overly gritty, but wonderful, fragrant, sweet coffee. Other aromas of milk chocolate, toast, molasses, mocha, caramel, a bit of vanilla bean. When you finally pour it in the glass, itís an opaque black, oily, with some sudsy brown head. Flavors follow suit, roasted malt, molasses, a little licorice, some toast, brown sugar, caramel, a little raisin, pencil lead and really high end coffee. Roasty, coffee finish. Incredibly drinkable. Goes down like itís 6%, not 11. One of the best beers I can remember having. Sensational in the truest sense of the word.

Growler shared by Terry. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate, and heavy coffee, dates and figs, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, heavy coffee, dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Dark black color with very thin head. Huge coffee and dark roast aroma. A bit cloying but pairs exquisitely with a small dish a vanilla ice cream for desert or maple bacon with pancakes
