Growler: The aroma consists of light-moderate apple, light lemon, and grass. It pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to nothing. The flavor starts a quick dose of sweet apple. The finish has light lemon, a touch of grain, and another strange flavor that I can?t pinpoint. It?s light bodied with light carbonation. Overall, it?s okay, but the grain and flavor I can?t pinpoint in the finish is a little strange.

Tap at the new location, pours murky straw gold with no head or lacing at all. Notes of peanut butter swirl, german malt, weird grains, no tartness, more sweet, this thing was brutal. Not enough carbonation, and rough flavor/nose.

On tap sampler at Al’s of Hampden during vacation from June 19, 2012. I couldn’t find Pizza Boy on the site at the time, so thanks to jsmerig to start the beer ratings. Bright yellow color with no head by the time the beer arrived. Light aroma of wheat and lemon(?). Tangy, watery wheat taste. Watery finish.

[4682-20120817] Growler. Light grainy straw fruit aroma. Clear, light orange body with a quick foamy white head. Straw sugared grains flavour. Light body. Not pleasant. (4/2/4/2/8) 2.0

In short: A full bodied tart Berliner with a dirty-farmhouse character. Slightly below average
How: Growler shared at Camping Brewdown 2012
The look: Almost clear pale blond body topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose is a bit musty-funky with notes of stinky feet over tart fruitiness (lemons, pineapples). Taste is very weathy, soft doughy cracker, tart lemons, pineapples, a strong farmhouse character, old stuff. Certainly not cleanest Berliner, this one is on the dirty side of the funk with a slightly doughy texture. Not as refreshing as it should be. Overall, I thought it was slightly below average for the style. Probably my favorite beer named after a poultry that steals things.

Growler shared at Campground Brewdown. Poured a slightly hazy pale straw body with a very very almost nonexistant head. Aroma of slight tartness, hint of lemon sourness, wet bread and citrus. Medium bodied with stronger carbonation and a quick fading aftertaste. Flavor is slightly tart with light lemon and light funk over wet toast. Nice beer.

On tap at Al’s of Hampden. Mild wheaty lactic nose. Tart and light. Medium golden amber clear with light haze. Very thin dissipating head. Medium-light body with vigorous carbonation. Starts lightly tart with wheat and lactic notes. Smooth finish, a little tart but not bitter. Clean after. A nice, refreshing beer.

Served on draft at the brewery. I wrote this in my notes as "turkey burger." HAH! Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white fizzy head. Good head retention. Aroma of tart citrus, caramel and a faint lactic note. The taste is wheat, citrus and a tart finish. Medium bodied and refreshing. Pretty basic, but good.

2012-08-17. Pale yellow, small white head. Odd aroma, sort of funk, vaguely smokey undertones. Muddled muted fruit. 6+ Flavour is odd, grainy sort of grassy flavour, lightly sour. Average to thin bodied palate. Okay, a bit odd. Growler, Campground Brewdown 2012

Had this at the Campground Brewdown, growler courtesy of Aaron I think. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft lactic acid on the nose. Wheat, lactic notes, grain. Wheat, musk, caramel. Wheat with light musk, long grain and lemon. Nice acid. Tasty stuff.
