Growler from Bill. Pours an orange copper color, notes were lots of sugars and sweetness, hoppy, aromas of butterscotch, malts, and hops. Finishes bitter and dry. Medium body. Just ok.

In short: A by the book citrusy golden IPA. Well made.
How: Growler shared at Camping Brewdown 2012.
The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by a small off - white head with good retention.
In long: Nose is resinous fruity hops with apricots coming out strong along with oranges, some grapefruits and earthy notes. Taste is well malted, lots of chewy cereals with only a mild caramel flavor. Bright and fresh citrusy hops, bitterness of medium intensity, nourishing and refreshing. Nothing I haven’t had many times before, but I’m not complaining, you can’t get tired of IPAs like this one. A name that reminds me of a certain prejudice, you eat a pizza every month and nobody says you’re a pizza addict but then you eat one or two pizza boy and all of a sudden you’re a “cannibal”, that’s unfair.

Draft on the way to Campground Brewdown. Poured a so-so looking clear thinner light amber body under a smaller foamy off white head. Aroma was very nice with notes of earthy citrus rinds, fresh hops and and grapefruits. Fuller dry body with a lingering bitter finish and average to stronger carbonatin. Flavor of earth, light chocolate, bitter citrus rind, tangerine. This was a solid IPA.

Orange-yellow body, moderate sized white head, decent lacing. Nose is pretty much straight citric hops with grapefruit and orange riding on top of a simple malt base. Flavor presents a similar profile. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mellow bitterness. Pleasant citric IPA.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of huge citrus hops, candied citrus, toffee malts. The taste is toffee, earth, citrus and herbal notes. Slightly off balance, lingering bitterness, low carbonation. Nice beer.

Growler at Campdown Brewdown. Poured a clear orange, spotty lacing. Nose is thick melon and candies. Richer. Taste is tea tannic, dry, herbal. Nutty and harsh.

Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden. A - Pours amber brown with a nice one and a half finger tall white head leaving small streaks of lace down parts of the glass. S - Smells of pungent hops, tropical fruits, pine and some slightly bready caramel malt. I like where this is heading. T - Starts off with plenty of citric hops and light caramel malt sweetness slowly giving way to hints of pine resin and fresh cut tropical fruits, mainly grapefruit and pineapple. Finish is bitter leaving the palate dried for quite awhile after consumption. M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Bitter feel but not as over the top as some of the other pizza boy beers. O - Compared to the other "normal" Pizza Boy beers I think this may be my favorite. It is still a little raw but I think with a few tweaks it could be something special.

Okay IPA. I want bigger citrus notes in the aroma and more bitterness in the taste, but I’d definitely drink more of it.
