ChazMania (288), Pasadena, California, USA May 26, 2008 Bomber all by my selfish self....
Not much of a head on this and yet the aroma is huge and fruity with honey and brown sugar tinges. The flavor is on the sweeter side of DIPA, lots of dark pineapple and mango with orange and pine needles mixed in. This is SO easy to drink. It coats my tongue with malted hop glory. This is nowhere near as bitter as other DIPA, not on the skunk side, but simply good and delicious. I can’t believe this is 9.5%, I taste no alcohol at all.
I need a dedicated beer refrigerator so that I could by loads of this and drink it all summer long!!
bitbucket (1541), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bomber. Pours clear dark gold with a white ring of foam. Sweet aroma of mango, pineapple, resin. Full body and minimal carbonation. Sweet taste of cotton candy, grapefruit and peach, with a resinous finish. bdigi66 (438), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle: Pours a gold-hued amber color with a fluffy white head. Notes of subtle caramel malts, floral hops, grass and pineapple in the nose...thick, viscous mouth feel with a bit of the alcohol biting down. Luscious pineapple and peach flavors apparent with huge amounts of floral and piney hops, light toffee notes present as well as a bit of grapefruit as it warmed. Very good. Lt_Dan (28), Greater Los Angeles Area, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 When I had it the first time, it was way to sweet. I tried the second batch last night, and it was too hot. When you make something as great as Hop 15, what more can you do. It’s like when Michael Jordan came back and tried to play for the Wizards. Dedollewaitor (2036), Odense, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 75cl bottle. Thanks to Papsoe/Ungstrup. Pours cloudy golden with a creamy white head & lacings. Nose is tropical fruity hops. Hops all over. Warm, sticky, powerful & a bit burning. Looong bitter end. Perhaps unbalanced & mega heavy - but I damm sure like it! Zinister (876), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle from South Bay. Deep hazy orange pour with very small head and good lacing. Aroma is floral and sweet tropical fruits with some rich malt sweetness as well. Flavor is rather sweet with up front, but then the hops kick in and give a good blast of grapefruit, orange pulp and flowers. Finishes pretty clean which is surprising considering how it starts. It’s almost cloying at first, but really rolls downhill nicely. Interesting DIPA.
