Tasted at pizza port ocean beach on the 3rd of july 2010 in honor of out independence on the following day and our freedom to have coffee and breakdast. Pours is a dirty hazy muddy unfiltered brown with a tan head consisting of tiny co2 bubbles. Aroma is french press coffee beans espresso roasted beans and vanilla. Flavor is vanilla dank bitter coffee beans fresh espresso coffee coffee coffee hyper caffienated starbucks and a touch of raw sugar. Fantastic fresh super coffee beer. F*ck the weasel and the sh*t pizza port represent. No growlers. ;(

On tap in OB. Pours dark brown with a big tan head, good retention, good lace. Smells of coffee grounds with some light sweetness. Tastes pretty good. Coffee grounds and roast, sweet. Coffee lingers in a good way. Quality not just crappy grounds. Medium body, smooth carbonation.

Tap at PP Carlsbad. Brown, slightly hazy, slightly reddish. Roasted malt, lots of coffee.. roasted ground coffee, sweetness, and a touch of chocolate. Would probably be good for breakfast, but a little one dimensional.

SD trip, Pizza Port OB: Very solid coffee porter. Black pour with thin tan head, and strong coffee, burnt malts. Full flavor of malts, coffee, chocolate and slight alcohol tone; alas no bacon or eggs were noticeable ;). Have one and enjoy! So good, we went back a few days later and had another.

Tap PPOB, son. Dark brown pour, thin tan head. Nose is coffee grinds, little chocolate, but nothing too sensual. Flavors bring back the coffee notes with subtle chocolate sweetness underneath. Kind of oily palate and oily flavors if that makes sense. Better tasting than it smelled like it was gonna be...some alcohol warmth keeps it kind of heavy and keeps the throat tingling. Not too bad, but nothing exceptional either.

9.5 % abv. Black with a fizzy off white head. Strong drip coffee aroma and taste with some sugar notes and a sweet malty finish.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 Served on tap from Port OB. The appearance is glossy deep coffee brown with a small tan head. The aromas are rich with fresh roasted coffee with an addition of a spice note of some sort. The flavors are strong with a deep roast coffee as the driving force. A light amounts oatmeal and grain, and a touch of vanilla. Not too much complex flavors past the coffee but the coffee flavors themselves are very well done. The mouth is medium bodied. A nice coffee brew that I hope is a regular.
