Draft on tap at Haymarket’s Pizza Port Event (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice golden hazed pour, a touch darker with some fading glowing orange edges with a decent frothy offwhite head that dies to a decent film, laces ok. Aromas are oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit, moving into florals, grass. Touches of bread, biscuits, a touch of toffee. Initial is medium bodied, preaches bitter hops with bigger fruity grapefruit, pine, and lemon. Some biscuits and toffee creep in with, sweeter malt base. With a bigger bitter hop bite that really dries out, a touch toasty. This has a considerable malt base but the hops really dry this bad boy out. Into the finish with touches of peach, grapefruit, lemons. Really potent fruity bitterness throws Amarillo fruity qualities and big fruity grapefruit, real dry piney finish. Top shelf DIPA.

Growler provided by Chris, poured into a perfect pint glass...Pours a hazy peach with a nice off white head head. The head rises slowly but forms a nice cap with good lacing. Great job of growlering this!!!...Great notes of grapefruit and pine hops showing off grassy too, but subdued not showing strong alcohol or too much hops, doesn’t show as a dipa...The taste is even better than aroma but similar. Tropical fruits on the front with a pine bitter finish, but no alcohol or sticky pine. So easy to drink, some malt helps too. Totally crushable, no way this is 9%. High recommendation, would love to have this fresh.

Draft at San Diego Strong Ale Fest 2010. Slightly hazy medium gold pour, white head. Citrus, grapefruit, light tropical fruit, and fairly dry. Very easy drinking for an IIPA, not too bitter.

Tap at PP Solana Beach. Honey golden/orange with a sparse, white head. Sticky lacing. Pungent hops with some pine and citrus - somewhat malty underneath as well. Taste is heavy hops, not particularly bitter nor floral. Smooth, relatively easy drinker with a nice, lingering feel in the mouth. Booze is well-hidden.

Growler provided by Dalekliz, thanks liz. First rating for a long time, just haven’t been ticking like I used to. Pours orangey with a tan head. The nose burst from the growler, big citrus. Taste is really nice and full of a rich hoppy bite.

Growler. Pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head that leaves a lot of lacing behind. Sweet and bitter hoppy aroma, of candied citrus, sugar, malt, and a bit herbal. Clean bitter taste, rather smooth, of malt, hops, preserved citrus, under-ripe tangerine. Lingering smooth bitterness. Tasty and very drinkable.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of pine grass, cow manure, orange, pineapple, and lemon. Flavor of hops (herbs, grass, tangerine, grapefruit) and caramel malt with a bitter finish.
