On tap @ Toronado SD. Polished brass edges with a 14 karat yellow-gold core and a delicate 1/2 inch head that left it’s mark every 1/4 inch down the glass . Aroma is evergreen forward but also shows bright grapefruit, orange peel, and lemon rind. Flavor is also heavy on pine sap and literally clings to the palate 10+ minutes after your last sip. Sticky, oily, biting bitterness...delicious. Just what you want in an IIPA.

Served in a pint at Toronado in SD. Outstanding IIpa. Very easy to drink with great aromas of citrus and hops. I took my time with this one. Moved on to 90 minute Ipa and had a great evening.

GABF 09- one of my favorite DIPA’s at the fest. Pours a very light golden yellow- slight hazy with a nice frothy white head- nice lace. Aroma is juicy citrusy hops, grapefruit pine and tons of very fresh weed- with lots of hairs, resin and crystals- oily. Sappy and oily flavor, with almost a dusty hop resin you get at the end of a 1 lb bag of hops- dusty in a good fresh way- piny grapefruit, and tropical- hardly any real malt noticed - finishes dry and very bitter- but awesome. Nice!

Fan-freaking-tastic. Big, awesome Double IPA. Very citrusy, with grapefruit being the dominant character. Exceptionally easy to drink.

Draft and growler from sb. Huge, fluffy head. Stcky finish to a cascade and simcoe dominated brew with caramel notes. Last hoppy brew of 2009-2010 SD trip. I love this place.

Tap at the brew pub. Pours a deep golden orange, lightly hazed with a frothy off white head, great lacing. Big nose of pine and citrus fruits followed by faint grainy and caramel qualities. Great hop bitterness on the palate with a long sticky finish......great stuff.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Poured a golden yellow with no haze and only a hint of a head.
Nose is obviously dominated by hops, but a wide range of scents, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, and even a slight hint of lime zest.
Taste is heavy on pine resin, pineapple, and tangerine from hops. Body is perfect for such a hop bomb, not so dry that the hop bitterness beats up your pallet, not so heavy that it competes with the hops. Just the perfect amount of a simple caramel backbone to highlight a great blend of hops. I really wish they would bottle this one.

On tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Pounded two of these alongside a BBQ Chicken Pizza with Katie...yum. Color is a light yellow, with medium carbonation and a short lived head that settles to spotty white lacing. Aroma is a satisfying floral and grassy hop tone, with a slight funk of weed. Flavor is jacked with hop juices, that begins a bit sweet and finishes rather dry. Good firm bitterness throughout. Lacks a bit of good malt base, but other than that, damn good for refreshing the palate with a pizza. Medium body.

On tap @ Solana. Clear light gold with a well retained, creamy off-white head. Fruity tropical aroma of pine, pineapple, and tangerine rinds. Flavor adds some light cotton candy sweetness as well as some light sweet caramel. Dry finish with bitterness @ a 5, alcohol just a little warming in the throat. Medium full body with moderate carbonation. Tasty--I just don’d quite understand why they’d serve me a pint, but wouldn’t sell me a growler of the beer yet because it was "too green."

GABF 2009. Very interesting name here, and a great beer. Clear golden color with a lasting white head. Aroma is rough citrusy hops and sweet malt. Nice west coast hop blast. Flavor is sweet malt, but mostly hop-forward, with lots of rough citrus as well as some tropical fruit/pineapple. Palate is nice and not too syrupy for the ABV and style, but with some lasting hop oils. Very solid.
