Sampler @ Pizza Port (Solana Beach) cask version. Pours golden, white head. Aroma and taste, hoppy, light malts, pine, some spices in the finish. Damn bitter for a DIPA, was expecting more malt balance.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2009 It WAS on tap at PPSB. Pours hazy orange with a medium size white head, some lace. Smells resiny and citrusy, orange, and good bitterness. Tastes bitter and dark, sweet citrusy and grassy, resiny as well. Full body, slightly syrupy, good carbonation. P.S. the cask version paled in comparison.

On tap at PP Solana. Golden copper hazy look to the beer. Modest citrus and pine. Good medium mouthfeel. Solid prominent hoppy bitter character. Just a touch of sweetness.Pretty long lasting and quite dry on the finish. Alcohol well hidden. Good beer but not amazing to me.

Like my predecessor, I had to take a growler home after having a pint of this. Poured oily orange-gold with a short white head. Thick, sticky lacing. Resiny goodness in the nose, acoompanied by pink grapefruit, ripe orange, mango, and tropical fruit syrup. Sticky, carbonated mouthfeel, and avoids feeling like syrup. More of the same fruit in the taste; heavy grapefruit and blood orange, but with a resin wallop. Tangy, sweet, bitter, and hoppy all atonce. A noticable malt presence in the back, which adds to the long, sticky finish. All the characteristics of a big, big DIPA.

This poured a hazy orange color with a big white head. Aroma was loaded with resinous piney hops and some citrus as well. Flavor is just a punch in the face of fruity citrus hops that meld well with the malts. This being 9.5% is just amazing. Very smooth and outstanding beer.

Draft @ DLD 09: Pour was very generous...orangish in color with a sizeable white head. Damn, the nose on this was huge...notes of pineapple, grapefruit and pine. Very clean tasting...flavor was dry and resiny with a pimped out citrus backbone, mainly grapefruit, pineapple and peach. Great brew.

On tap at PP SB last week, was waiting for someone to input it. Color was amber or orange. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus and flowers. Pretty herbal overall. Flavor was same; a blend of various hop flavors, with some citrus, fruit, flowers and some herbal. Pretty solid beer.

Draft at DLD ’09. A huge surprise to me, (and the biggest pour of the day). Nose was so dank and pungent, filled with catty notes and resin, tropical fruits. This was a big IIPA that I could have drank a ton of. A nice aggressive, but smooth, hoppiness that really kicks you in the teeth and has you asking for more. One of the best IIPAs I’ve had in a long time. Awesome.

On tap at DLD. Bright, hazy orange pour with a nice, lasting head of off-white foam. Big grapefruit and citrus aroma. Very pungent. The flavor was full of bitter grapefruit rind, mango, oranges, pine, with just enough caramel to hold things together. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and slightly oily/resiny. A very nice DIPA. Well done!

Deep yellow orange with a creamy white head. Strong grspefriut pine and caramel aroma and taste with big bitterness and alcohol warmth.
