Keg @ CPK. Deep brown with no head. The nose is huge bourbon, big woody sugary notes. Some vanilla. The taste is similarly outsized, plenty of big toasty coffee and chocolate notes. Plenty of bourbon and booze. The body’s full and thick, but drinks very well for 11%. Overall, really nice.

Draft at PP Carlsbad. Huge bourbon and vanilla nose.  Also prunes.  Flavor is tons of bourbon, vanilla, and oak.  Bourbon coats the tongue.  Awesome.

Keg at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A black coloured pour with virtually no head to speak of. Sweet, dark fruit aroma. Tastes of dark fruit, sweet, some caramel, some coffee and spice, cinammon. Complex stout from Pizza Port.

Draft at pizza port Carlsbad with Linh. Pitch black with light brown ring lacing, no head. Aroma is muted dark chocolate and light bourbon. Mouthfeel is smooth, full and creamy with notes of delicious sweet chocolate, oak, bourbon, maple and molasses. Reminiscent of older viscosity, which is always a good thing. Awesome.

CP&K Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Nice to catch up with this after missing it Sour & Bitter due to inebriation! Opaque black beer, short lived pale tan head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation that gives it a crispy edge. Classic barrel aged beer - smooth vanilla oak, luxuriant creamy dark malt, mild and well judged bourbon. A little unusual in as much as it’s delivered in a crispy palate. Dangerously drinkable - my half pint went down very easily.

Opaque black color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts, cocoa, burnt wood, light oxidation, and alcohol. Taste of roasted malts, tobacco, dried fruits, espresso, vanilla, bourbon, and alcohol in the finish.

Draught @ [ Sour&Bitter 2012 ] @ Refshalevej 163A, 1432 Copenhagen K, Denmark.

Dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, vanilla, wood notes. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, vanilla - bourbon, chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120510]

Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, vanilla, oak, bourbon, soy, liquorice, dark chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Flavor is again really nice and complex roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, oak, bourbon, soy sauce, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and some liquorice. The body is full with a creamy mouth feel. Overall a really nice Imperial Stout!

On tap @ Sour & Bitter Dinner, Copenhagen. Tar black body resides in my glass, capped by a small caramel-hued retention. Nose is heavy bourbon, soy, peanuts, wood, coffee and hints of licorice. Really nice stuff; I could sniff this all night! :-) Taste is harsh coffee and bourbon notes, vanilla, dark chocolate, burnt toast, hints of caramel and mocha. Very elegant, complex and super tasty! Smooth palate with mild carbonation carries this one right up there. A great bourbon BA brew for sure.

On Tap @ S&B - Pours deep black with thin head, dissolving quickly. Aromas of coffee, caramel and clear bourbon notes. Full bodied with taste that confirms whet’s in the nose. Salty finish.
