Draft. Poured hazy reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration. This beer went well with the pizza.

On tap at Solana Beach. Pours with a medium amber-red hued body with a full white head that leaves some lace. Aromas are bready, biscuity, toasty with light caramel, medium ester (red fruit), low leather and light hop. Flavors are bready, biscuity, mild diacetyl, medium fruity esters, a touch of mild roast. Medium bubbles. Decent for a style I don’t much care for.

The pour is a clear amber color with a khaki head. Toasted malt, caramel, toffee, light grassy hops, and bread. A good creamy sweetness, bready malt, toffee, and light floral hoppiness. A really good toasted flavor. Very nice beer.

(Draught) Pours a clear dark amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, raisins, and light roasted malt. Flavor of raisins, caramel, grass, roasted malt, and earthiness with a moderately dry finish.

Served on tap at Port OB. The appearance is a deep reddish brown hue. Flavors and aromas of light cinnamon, caramel, some nutty malts, and a biscuity Belgium yeast flavor. That Belgium thing put me off and didn’t really do anything for me. Nice moderate carbonation and easy to drink. An ok brew but I prefer others from Pizza Port.

Pint at PP OB. Clear auburn with a small light beige head,. Toasty malts and a bit of caramel malt up front, tinge of roast. There is also a tinge of something tangy which was slightly off putting. Flavor is nice and toasty, pretty dry with not too much caramel. Touch of hazelnut. Bone dry finish, bitterness at a 1-2, earthy. Moderate prickly carbonation with a light body. Pretty solid for one of my not favorite styles. 7-3-7-3-13--3.3
