On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Black with a small beige head. Delicious chocolate and vanilla aroma. Vanilla flavours, hints of roast, marcipan, some offsetting acidity. Quite well-carbonated. Simply a great beer.

I love that this Black DIPA is named after a black dude and has a big fat picture of him on the brewpub label at Carlsbad. Pours a deep almost black with some amber notes and a medium creamy:bubbly off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, nice floral and citrusy American hop notes, herbal. Flavor of a nice dry double IPA. Citrusy and floral hops, lightly toasted malts, herbal hops, citrusy and floral.

Looks fantastic. A bit harsh with the hops but quite excellent. Strong, can taste the alcohol, but still very good. Thick and serious.

Draft. Pours a clear and dark beer with a weak head. The aroma is malt and sweetness. The flavor is malt, roasted and sweetness. The palate is sweetness and roasted, Overall a good beer.

Draught at Mikkeller baren.Dark brown colour with creamy light beige head.Aroma is sweet of chocolate coffee and rosted malt,mild fruity of citrus and pine well balanced and hoppy.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Pours a deep dark brown, almost clear black, with a nice creamy off-white tan head. Nice fresh hops in this one, citrus, grapefruit, bitterness, caramel malt, and lightly toasted bread. Very nice IIPA, the appearance is tricky.

Tap @ Toronado 2nd Anny. Pours a deep brown almost black with a nice creamy beige head. Big pine and deep roasted malts on the nose. Medium sticky on the palate.

Draught at Blind Lady. Pretty tasty Black IPA. Pours pretty black with a nice off-white head and some lacing. BIG hoppy aroma that included a touch of roasted malt. Big full mouthfeel and some syrupy notes of sticky hop resin and caramel malt. Pretty filling but still light enough not to weigh you down. Went well with pizza.
