jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Aug 18, 2008 Draft @ Carlsbad. Pours amber with white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is caramel and mild nutty flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 10, 2008 Draft in San Clemente. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of hops and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and malt, as well as lot of hoppy grass, leading to a rather bitter finish. Nice and refreshing. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap in San Clemente (!). Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Light roasted caramel malt aroma. Light spiced and breadish bse flavour. Delicate fruity hops flavour on top. Goes into a nice hoppy finish. Ughsmash (3982), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 5, 2008 First beer of the ol’ 14 beer sampler! Poured clear healthy golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up plenty of honey presence over more sweetness (pale malt and some fruit).. became a bit artificial with warmth. The flavor had juicy floral notes and lighter fruits supported by bread and honey maltage.. dry finish with grass and light pale malts. Creamy, heavier carbonation on the palate with a dry feel overall.. bit grainy on the back. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 28, 2008 Tap @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad. Pours a clear amber color with a lacy white head. Aroma is malt with grain notes faintly detectable. Taste is the same, with the beer remaining sublimely smooth throughout and a nice grain finish. I found this a very enjoyable everyday/session beer. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 On tap at Pizza Port C’bad. Pours clear amber with a frothy head that left a nice thin lacing. Nose is sweet malt, crisp and clean, start is sweet and has a nice grain profile with the top middling in it feel. Finish has a pleasant acidic bite, the hops delectable in their spiciness, dry aftertaste a nice break from getting slammed over the head with all the west coast hop bombs out here right now! It is the chronic~ Nik925 (300), California, USA Jul 5, 2008 Updated: Nov 20, 2008Great head good aroma. Super malt yet a bit of lager taste. The hops are really mellow, hiding behind a caramel malt flavor. Not perfect, but the highest score I have ever given to a beer with "lagery" in the description. cale422 (25), Timmonsville, South Carolina, USA Jun 10, 2008 Visit to San Diego....love the brew scene. This beer was a deep ambercolor slight haze. Some rye flavor even though now rye is in the brew. Very earthy hops and earthy flavor. Nice rich mouthfeel
