Commercial Description:
Our customers can’t get enough of this amber ale that was orginally brewed with hemp seeds, but tastes just as good without them.

From a growler filled at PP Carslbad. Shared with some friends. Pours copper with a 1 finger tan head. The nose is odd in a number of capacities. It doesn’t really smell like anything in particular. The taste is very lager like with not a lot of punch. This is pretty disappointing but it was worth a try.

On tap at The Local in SD. Pours a light amber with a medium white head. Sweet floral aroma from the hops. medium caramel sweetness and a swell bitter citrus hop finish. Has a discernable tea flavor, but I’m not getting any acetaldehyde mentioned by Bück Dich. Maybe my ADH activity isn’t high enough?

On tap at deep orange body and a white head. Hardly any aroma at all. Taste is spicy and malty husky with an odd aftertaste. Slightly fizzy and a bit on the dry side.

San Clemente: Delicious! Despite Pizza Port having other standout brews, this Carlsbad Chronic has to take the cake! It's absolutely addictive. Copper in the glass. Malty with a touch of bitterness. I could simply drink this all day long due to its slight sweetness. Hemp seeds, eh?

A light and fruity sweet aroma. Pours amber. Flavor is sweet caramel malt. Body is light. One of their most sessionable ales.

On tap @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad. Clear orange-amber, fruity caramel aroma and flavour. Nothing special, but well-made and very sessionable medium-hoppy amber.

Draft at Pizza Port Carlsbad; Nose of light caramel and graininess; very lightly hazy orange with a small off-white head; flavor of caramel and light hop bitterness.

(Draft: Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA) A decent amber ale, but nothing I’m too excited by; From start to finish, the flavor is quite malty, moreso than your typical amber ale, with a moderate sweetness and a light honey flavor; Light hoppiness adds some balance, but this remains a sweet, malt dominated beer; Although this medium bodied beer is a little heavy from the sweet maltiness, a slightly sour flavor in the finish helps to clear the palate somewhat; The nose is sweet honey, lightly malty, and not much in the way of hops; This has your basic amber color; Off-white head slowly fades to a thin layer; A dense lacing droops down the sides of the glass like, well, 50-year old DD breasts; Where’s my mind today?
