Commercial Description:
Our customers can’t get enough of this amber ale that was orginally brewed with hemp seeds, but tastes just as good without them.

This beer poured a reddish/amber color (no surprise). It's aroma and flavor had lots of butterscotch-like notes. In some ways, the flavor & nose were almost like a port. The mouthfeel was velvety, the finish clean. This beer had a lot more flavor and character than I expected from an "amber ale". Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of butterscotch. For those who like that taste, this would be an enjoyable brew

clear copper, fine dirty white head, sheets of lace, light sweet caramel malt aroma with a nice bready character and light floral hops, lots of bready malt flavor, touch of caramel sweetness, the caramel and bready characters blend and grow as it warms, well balanced with earthy and citrus hops,

Medium amber color. Small head. Aroma is malty and sweet. A medium bodied “amber” brewed with hemp seed. Malts are nutty and sweet. Touch of butterscotch. Hops are slightly spicy. Nicely balanced. Smooth taste. Fairly light, crisp and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Tap at San Clemente (I’m guessing the rating belongs here, since it’s not listed under san clemente and the brewers are the same): Light copper color with tiny white head. Aroma has peach, apples, honey, malt. Flavor is fruity, crisp; dry finish with a touch of bitterness.

(Draft: Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA) A decent amber ale, but nothing I’m too excited by; From start to finish, the flavor is quite malty, moreso than your typical amber ale, with a moderate sweetness and a light honey flavor; Light hoppiness adds some balance, but this remains a sweet, malt dominated beer; Although this medium bodied beer is a little heavy from the sweet maltiness, a slightly sour flavor in the finish helps to clear the palate somewhat; The nose is sweet honey, lightly malty, and not much in the way of hops; This has your basic amber color; Off-white head slowly fades to a thin layer; A dense lacing droops down the sides of the glass like, well, 50-year old DD breasts; Where’s my mind today?

Tap @ Carlsbad from Dec 05. Coppery pour with some orange hints. Sweet malty flavors with a moderate body. A bit too sweet for a session beer for me.

On tap @ the Local - Downtown San Diego. I didn’t even know that this had Hemp Seeds in it, but I do love the idea. Guess that explains why this beer is listed as a Spice/Herb/Vegetable. Anyway, it’s a mellow, light bodied amber ale akin to Fat Tire, in fact it could be a FT clone. It’s not normally my favorite style, but it was light and refreshing after a day of riding bikes with my compadre, Bartzilla. Bikes, beer, food, sunshine........life is good.

Pours an amber color with white head. Not really that interesting, but still well done for an amber. A little bit biscuity, with light fruit, caramel, and some floral hops. hints of spice. Pretty nice easy drinking beer.
