twistedviews (67), California, USA Sep 13, 2009 on tap at pizza port san clemente up my street... golden with white head, reminds me of a fat tire. BrotherGrendel (551), San Diego (La Jolla), California, USA Aug 1, 2009 Amber orange with thin white head; nose is caramel and grassy hops, subtle; flavor is also caramel with hint of nuts; thin texture with moderate carbonation; a decent amber with medium bitterness and light hop flavor, nothing stands out here. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 21, 2009 On tap. Clear golden with an off-white head. Fresh and somewhat peachy hop aroma. Medium body, a little caramel and fruit before a dry and lightly hoppy finish. 060709 DJMonarch (6071), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 9, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 12/10/2007
Some hop aroma. Bronze coloured and smooth on the palate with a crisp and slightly dry malt finish. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 8, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Dark amber-brown with a white head. Light caramel, herbal spice and light hops in the aroma. The flavor has toasty and light caramel malts with just balancing hops and a hempy spice. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Nice balance of flavors with the addition of the hemp spiciness. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 23, 2009 On tap at the brewpub in San Clemente. Pours a clear, copper-orange body with a thin, cream-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of thick, layered lacing. Sweet and malty aroma with lots of caramels. A light amount of toasted toffees, fruit, nut, and earthy citrus. Similar flavor, more noticeable earthy bitterness and more bready than the aroma. Medium bodied and finishes slightly dry with a soft hop linger. Overall, a solid, well balanced amber ale with more spice than most. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA May 6, 2009 Tap at Boonville Beer Fest. Reddish-amber color with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruity notes, and mild hops. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, spicy/fruity notes, and some hops. Medium palate. Hemp? Uh...if you say so. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Apr 10, 2009 Dry hopped cask version at PP Carlsbad. Amber with a cloudy body. Nose is hoppy, with grassy flavors. Bready with light bitter notes.
