Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with hints of coconut. Slightly sweetish roasted malty coconut and chocolate flavor. has a roasted malty coconut finish with weak smoky hints.

On tap at Carlsbad. Pours with a near black hued body with a tan head. Aromas are of coconut, nougat, chocolate, almond joy, rich cocoa and toasty with only a background hint of smoke. Aromas are huge of coconut, licorice, roast, a hint of spicy heat oddly, chocolate. Oily and slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown with a fizzy off white head. Chocolate and roasted grain aroma. Tastes of chocolate, sugar, lactos, coffee, and coconut. Bright smooth silky medium bodied palate.

Test tube to snifter. Pours a fairly clear, dark brown appearance with a tan head. Coconut, slightly burnt malty, chocolate, vanilla, lightly smoky aroma. Big toasty coconut, s’more, a bit charred malty, chocolate, vanilla flavor. Nice stuff that I hope to try more of in the future.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. big sweet coconut on the nose. A small hint if smoke. Flavor carries the coconut on top of the roasted porter taste, with a touch of smoke. Very well done.

On tap 3 oz. sample at Pizza Port (Carlsbad). Opaque, black-brown with khaki head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, cocoanut, chocolate and coffee. Draft at PP Carlsbad. Very dark brown pour, with a thin tan head. Roasted malt, dry chocolate, good coconut flavor, milk chocolate, and a dry nutty finish. The coconut aroma was especially nice. Tasty.

Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Black pour with a quickly fading froth of tan foam. Aroma is coconut, chocolate, coffee, and background roast. Taste is cocnut heavy with chocolate, roast, and coffee. Clean, almost airy mouthfeel. Really good coconut beer.

Sort of a murky dark brown color with a khaki head. Plenty of roasted malt, huge coconut, lots of chocolate, and a bit of smoke. Some mild malt sweetness on the finish. The flavor has a really nice coconut character, some mild smoke, and plenty of roasted malt. Chocolate, mild coffee, and mild toffee sweetness.
