3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Mortlach (745) - Rome, ITALY - DEC 30, 2012
28/12/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Dorata, limpidissima, schiuma bianca abbondante e persistente. Aroma fruttatissimo, con note pinose e leggermente erbacee. In bocca è amara decisa ma ben bilanciata, leggermente erbacea, si lascia bere abbastanza facilmente. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione corretta. Un po’ timida, ma non male.

on tap at pizza port Carlsbad. Dank grapefruit citrus nose. Clear gold color. Very bitter, some citrus characters and a bit of fruitiness, but mostly it’s about the bitter chinook. Very well made

Growler fill from Pizza Port Carlsbad: Poured a golden honey color and created a monstrous sizing of foamed head. As for the aroma, not a whole lot going in this recipe other than a balanced aroma of malt and hops. Flavor is boring and bland with only a touch of malts and almost no evidence of hops despite the listing on the board that this was a fresh wet hop pale ale. Sort of reminds me of a home made brew. I’m disappointed I went with this beer instead of something else. I guess that’s my fault babe for not requesting a sample.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pantanap (3194) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 20, 2011
On tap at pp Carlsbad. Subpar draft list to be honest... Pours a golden mostly transparent creamy white head... Citrusy hop profile, somewhat average and not too unique. Pretty crisp... Flavors are on a similar wavelength with grassy semi-bright citrusy hops. Very light bitterness with a somewhat grassy backend to it which extends well on through the finish. Not bad, just average.
