Sample at the San Clemente location. The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Pp Plant to Pint Wet Hopped Pale Ale 2012: draft. Aroma is fragrant flower petals, bits of fresh picked herbs and mikan. Flavor builds, overall more pronounced and sublimely hoppy than most wet-hopped creations. Flowery, earthy layered flavors marry nicely with a moderate malt bill. Round bitterness and that buttery mouthfeel contibute comforting balance. This is a top-notch wet-hop ale.

28/12/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Dorata intensa, limpida, schiuma bianca abbondante e persistente.

Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Clear golden pour with a large white head. Aroma is clean, fresh hops with pine and light, complimentary bitterness followed by minimal malt sweetness. Taste is somewhat herbal with earthy hops, bitterness, and a small amount of pine. Nice, clean drinking beer but the herbal flavor is a bit over the top for me.

Overall really good. Strange to get a wet hopped beer that isn’t citrus or pine or floral but is aggresively hoppy and tasty. At BAM Fest in Santa Monica.

A Sim rate (on tap at Pizza Port, Carlsbad): Smells hoppy, but not as hoppy as it is creamy. Sharp, hoppy flavour that’s bitter and lovely hops all together. Finish leaves me wanting more. Lovely.

Draft at Toronado San Diego. Pours a dark golden orange color with a one finger white head.  Good retention, slowly settling into a lasting, thick ring.  Chunks of soapy lace left behind. Earthy, floral aroma with dank, resinous hops giving off lots of pine and citrus.  Hints of pineapple and grapefruit counter the earthier notes.  Pale biscuit malt presence. Medium bodied wih a blast of sticky, dry hops that linger throughout into a slightly boozy finish.  Bitter and dry with dank pine needle flavor countered  by tropical and citrus fruit, especially pineapple and orange peel.  Subtle malt backbone for balance with hints of graham cracker and biscuit.  Very well balanced and extremely quaffable.

Growler! thanks Jen!! .. Pours a gold brick .. great lacing .. . mouth coating sap, pinecone, more sap, and sweet syrup .. . sweet, sticky, and nicely hoppy .. . a joy to drink! .. . . The difference between a man and a boy is, a boy wants to grow up to be a fireman, but a man wants to grow up to be a giant monster fireman..
