Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Rich, dank grapefruit nose with suggestions of pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with lots of heavy and dank citrus, grapefruit, a bit of spicy pine needless , tangerine, pale bread. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. On tap at the Carlsbad brewpub. Lightly hazy golden body and an off-white head. Lots of tropical fruits on the nose, including grapefruit and orange. Medium to full body, quite dry. A good bitterness in the flavor, with oranges, grapefruit and a generic tropical fruits flavor. Long finish. Wonderful, would like access to this all the time. 130813

Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Strong pineapple and grapefruit aromas up front. A lot of floral and grassy notes, too. Some citric character, a bit of pine, and a light herbal quality. The flavor is lightly sweet and bready, but still plenty of grapefruit, floral, herbal, and pineapple hop notes. A mild bitterness, a bit of grass, and a hint of pine.

Tap at Toronado SD. Pours a low haze, glowing gold. Thin head. Nose is puppy breath, pineapple, cantaloupe, and a lot of white grapes- a character that is recurring with wet hop ales this year. Taste is very bitter, intense walnut and Brazil nut, some fruity notes like pineapple, peach, and more white grape juice. Very bitter, long finish. Aggressive, but enjoyable. Can’t really go wrong with a Pizza Port IPA.
