Nose is full of honey, features dank hops and balancing malts. Flavor is much the same with the sweetness and hops coming through. I donít know what to say except that this should be listed as an IPA - it is that robust and balanced.

22/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Thanksgiving Day. Dorata, pesca, schiuma bellissima, molto abbondante e straordinariamente persistente. Al naso aroma intensissimo, un bouquet esplosivo di frutta esotica e pesca con note erbacee, davvero impressionante. In bocca Ť luppolata decisa ma bilanciata, secca, di facile beva, quasi perfetta. Corpo medio, buona carbonazione. Profumatissima, una meraviglia.

From tap at Carlsbad. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is dry hoppy, mild peachy. Smooth fruity and mild citrusy to peachy. Dry peachy and mild fruity finish. Very elegant and smooth.

Pours a hazed golden color with a sticky white head. Intense grapefruit aroma to this. Itís very citric. Very little malt to it all. Thereís some pine, maybe a bit of pineapple. A bit of weed, too. The flavor is just as much intense grapefruit as the aroma had with a bit more pine bitterness and pineapple. The marijuana is there, too. Just a hint of pale malt flavor. Light body, medium carbonation, and easy to drink.

On tap @ Carlsbad. Beer menu states 5.8%, wall states 6.1%. Clear golden with a one finger off-white head, fair retention. Citrus hops dominate with a clean caramel malt backbone. Flavor has the citrus coming out stronger with some light tropical fruit additions. The caramel is a little stronger as well. Semi-dry with bitterness @ a 4. Light to moderate prickly smooth (sounds weird, but true) carbonation. Very good APA that Iíd place as an IPA.

On cask at the Tap Room in PB . Was expecting a smooth Pale Ale, along the lines of Fire Rock, Stone, Sierra Nevada, etc. This was almost like a light IPA. Aroma is citrus, hops and even a little soapy. Appearance is a thick, murky, opaque gold with a soft pillow of white head. Hits the palate hard, but then smooths right out. Might be the cask effect, as casks tend to smooth everything out. Hoppier than expected and for me, thatís always a good thing.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy, burnt orange with a sudsy, offwhite head and spider web lace. Smells deep and citrusy grassy with a nice bit of malt in the background. Tastes bitter grassy hoppy with building caramel malt flavors. Medium body, vibrant carbonation.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Orange yellow color. Nice sticky foam head. Mild citrusy grapefruit hop bitterness. Mild, but nice hoppy aroma. Very good. Easy to drink.

On tap at Carlsbad. Pours with a mildly hazed golden hued body with a frothy white head that lasts. Aromas are of tangerine, pomelo, citrus, herbaceous and dank. All hops. Flavors are sweet fruit, citrus, herbaceous, dank and a bit minty. Low to no malt character which is fine by me. Fresh tasting. Lively bubbles and dry. Good, but are very hoppy 6.1% beers American Pale Ales these days?
