nightrider (370), encinitas, California, USA May 5, 2008 On tap from the release/ 2nd Anniversary Party. Brown murky look to it with not much in the way of a head. Smeels like cherry, cramel malt and yeast. Very easy in your mouth and pleasant. Way complex in flavor. Bourbon notes, dried fruit, sugar, molasses, with just the right amount of sweet and tart cherry. Very hard to detect alcohol. Insane beer! badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA May 4, 2008 Updated: Dec 30, 2008Bottle from brewery. Dark brown with no head. Aroma of cherry, sugar, caramel, vanilla, and oak. Thick tangy palate. Dark fruit, chocolate, cherry, vanilla, citrus, brown sugar, and oak taste. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA May 4, 2008 Updated: Sep 11, 2008This stuff is so freakin’ good. Had at the release today on tap, pours cloudy, dark caramel brown with no head. Nose is light and tart with some brett funk, as is the flavor as it tingles your tongue when it passes your lips. Very smooth and dangerously drinkable, considering the % and $! patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 30, 2008 sampled at DLD, wish I knew/remembered who passed this out to rather random beer fans late in the day at DLD, but thanks! Another example of a very generous soul at DLD... part of what makes it so great - Pours hazy brown with an aroma of tart cherries and some yeast and malt. The flavor is both sweet and tart with cherries, oak, and malt. I didn’t really notice the 11.5% abv. Nice. masonjer (558), Holt, Michigan, USA Apr 29, 2008 Updated: May 11, 2009Thanks to the very kind gentleman who gave me a little of his bottle at DLD. Poured a very cloudy brown color. Nice sour aroma with inviting cherry and a little wood. Taste starts out nice, some punchy sour, nice barrel, a little raising and dark fruit, and then moves slowly towards a beautiful finish of tart cherry and earthy notes. The taste was very good, but the lasting finish is what got me. This beer finishes great in the mouth. Nice work. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Apr 23, 2008 Draught @ brewery. Very warm, friendly brown color. No lacing. Strong cherry nose with brandy and its barrel. Flavors are same with honey kiss at end. Slick mouthfeel, and too drinkable like Tomme’s others. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 Tap at Beer Dinner. Pours with a dark color and is fairly flat. Great aromas of cherry and tart fruit, flavors are subtly tart, with some wood, leather and even some coffee thrown in. Quite complex. DicksMcGee (54), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 20, 2008 Pretty good. Aroma and taste blueberries, tart apples, brown sugar, vanilla, very dry. Mohagany, no head. Pepsican, I nod to you sir.
