Feb 24, 2006 Many thanks to cquiroga for this - beautiful burgundy color, with lasting lace of large bubbles - rich, powerful aroma of cherries, vanilla, must, oak, background alcohol - mild sweet cherries to start, quickly making way for sour/tartness and lots of brett/funk and earthy/barnyard notes - some plum and chocolate start coming in late, followed by strong oak flavor, then a mellow vanilla/bourbon character comes along with warming alcohol at just the right time to compliment it - the vanilla/bourbon lasts through the finish, and long after you’ve swallowed, just sitting on your palate to remind you of the unique and interesting flavor experience you just had - very nice.

Feb 6, 2006 FoBAB: dark red/medium brown with decent tan head, nice lacing. Very sour vinegar and cherries up front, with some musty/yeasty farmhouse funk in the background. Flavor has a huge sour cherry kick right off the bat, fades towards the middle to yeasty funk with tartness taking over in the finish. Long lingering tart aftertaste.

Feb 5, 2006 Deep red color with complex nose exhibiting lots of funky, fruity notes with cherries coming through. First sip adds more layers of sweet malt complexity with crisp, sour flavors. Crisp sour notes accent the finish mking this an extremely enjoyable beer. Thank you, may I have another?

Jan 29, 2006 A slightly sour, fruity, light-bodied ale. Cherry accented with pleasant sourness throughout. Muted acidity melds with a dought yeastiness and plenty of dark fruit, figs, dates, molasses, and soft buttermilk biscuits. Ends with soft brett funk. Damn nice.

Jan 24, 2006 Poured reddish brown with practically no head. Aromas of chocolate, cherry, caramel, brown sugar and port. Taste had noticable alcohol with the chocolate and cherry coming in quite a bit. Powerful aftertaste with various chocolate flavors plus cherry. Perfect dessert beer.

Jan 23, 2006 Mahogony/red with a little dark sediment in suspension, hazy with a medium sized creamy light tan head. Fairly hazy. Nose of sour cherries (front and finish), brown sugar, ripe figs and malt vinegar. Toasted and bitter, bread crusts and pumpernickle and cherry pits. Woody and a braised/roasted vegetable, vidalia onions. Peppery and tart. Hot with alcohol. Very interesting. Thanks mr_kimchee!

Dec 25, 2005 Sampled at the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer at Goose Island, Nov.11, 2005. Deep reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. Rich horseblanket aroma, with ground cherries, and lactic notes. Rich sour brown with light vinegar, cherries, sour puckering quality, and vinous notes. Very classy. Rich and restrained.

Dec 18, 2005 Updated: Oct 9, 2006(Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful, clear red beer - no head whatsoever. Completely flat. Sour, but fresh berry aroma. Extremely sour, but still fresh. Reminds me a lot of a Flemish Sour. Loads of fruit and extremely vinous. No real bitterness. Nice, but I dont believe I can drink a lot of this. 031205 and 061006
