COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bold Belgian Style Ale is a blend of 4 sources of fermentable sugars. American Oak, sour cherries, and three seperate strains of brettanomyces. It takes over a year to make each batch because a beer like this requires patience, creativity, and most importantly, equal parts luck and skill. We know of no other beverage in the world that tastes like this.

On tap. Pours brown with absolutely no head. Still carbonated though. Complex aroma. Cherries, oak, vinegar, and even a little bit nuttiness. Served a little too cold. Flavor is tart cherry, oak, and a little alcohol. Never been my style but this tolerable if not somewhat enjoyable.

2009 Vintage thanks to spacecoyote ! Pours a deep ruby brown color with a finger of khaki foam. The nose is very complex... sour cherry, cola, cranberry, welches grape juice, wet funky wood, vinous cabernet notes. The palate follows the nose with great complexity and deep dark vinous notes. Nice chocolate malt backbone, great acidity, cranberry, cherry, bourbon.... really nice. Great lingering finish... YUM !

(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Assez agressif sur le palais, foncé en bouche avec des notes de fruits, cuir, brett. Échantillon trop bref pour apprécier sa complexité.

Bottle 37.5cl 2009 vintage thanks Allen. A red amber beer with low head. Nose is on sour cherries, vinegar and vinous. Aroma is on wood, cherry, acid, sour and vinegar like, lactic, alcohol well hidden. Bit disappointed not as impressive as expected.

Pours Reddish brown with thin tan head. Nose of sweet spice and yeast. Nice dried cherry sour taste with some malt for some great balance. I am not a sour fan and this is impressive. Might convert me into a believer!

2013 Vintage - On tap at Original Gravity in San Jose. Pours murky brown with red hues coming through with bubbles escaping on top and around the sides of the glass. Awesome aromas of tart cherries, funk, brett, barrel, leather, raisins, wine and bourbon. Flavor is pretty much the same with additional dark fruit interwoven with the tart cherries. First few sips are rather sour, but the mouth gets used to it and unlocks some other interesting complexities. Finishes pretty dry with oak after tastes. Pretty awesome sour.

All I can say is "HOLY CRAP!" This beer is da bomb. The color of motor oil. Zero head. Amazing aroma of raisins. So many flavors, its hard to identify. Slightly acidic.

900th rating! 2009 375mL bottle pours a murky muddy brown with no head. Aroma has lots of cherries, vinegar, caramel, tootsie roll, and sour apple skins. Taste of sour cherries, apple skins, caramel malt, and finishing with bitter leather lacto notes, and some pepper. Very balanced but not a huge fan of the finish.

Bottle 375ml. Almost no "pop" at opening. Pours dirty, murky dark brown. No head to speak of. Aroma is of vinegar, fruits, malt, sourness. Taste is of malt, sweet, caramel, fruits, sourness. Palate: Medium body. Overall: Very sweet, sour too. Multi-layered. This one is quite disapointing for me. It’s a mess. Maybe there is a reason why "no other beverage in the world tastes like this". Well, some seem to like this. Gonna leave future bottles to those.

Bottle (375 ml). Traded by Whatsarezaf, thanks Reza! Ugly murky brown with no head and no lacing. Aroma of red fruits, chocolate, caramel and slight acetic notes. Taste is moderately to heavy sweet with red fruits, chocolate, oak, vanilla, caramel, moderate sourness and acetic notes. Low carbonation. Not bad, but not really impressive either.
