Commercial Description:
This bold Belgian Style Ale is a blend of 4 sources of fermentable sugars. American Oak, sour cherries, and three seperate strains of brettanomyces. It takes over a year to make each batch because a beer like this requires patience, creativity, and most importantly, equal parts luck and skill. We know of no other beverage in the world that tastes like this.

GABF 2002: Rich and strong aroma, like brandy and sherry, very winey. Sherry and Madeira flavors. Strong, fruity, plummy and raisiny. Strong, souring, alcoholic finish.

Bottled. Very dark brown. Rodenbach-like acidic, vinous, woody grape aroma. Full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Like a St Lamvinus on steroids. Unusual and incedibly flavourful, yet elegant. Definitely not your everyday beer. The flavour could perhaps be even more complex, but I find this to be one most the most interesting beers I’ve had.

Poured dark brown color with a cream colored head. Aroma of bourbon, cherries, light tartnesss, and sugar/caramel. The flavor continues with the bourbon and cheeries. Sweet and tart with a semi-dry woody finish. So tasty if only it was half the price and sold in GA.

Bottle. Cloudy cherry in colour. Aroma of sour cherries, wood, earth and vinegar. The flavour was of very sour and tart cherries, very acidic, oaky, plums, woody. Medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes was of sour cherries and some alcohol. Fantastic stuff and wonderfully complex. This is something that I will definitely want again.

A glowing cherry sunset melting into a sea of caramelized raisins…Waves of oak barrel fumes soothe the mind as gum-drying, vinous acidity purports the eternal thriving and bustling of Mother Nature…The perfect funky undertow grasps onto the tart fruitiness and caresses it throughout…These shores are printed in my heart and I truly hope to be able to revisit them physically on a regular basis…

Bottle. Murky red-brown with an off-white ring of head. Aroma has lots of oak cherries, pears, and general vinous notes. Burnt toast, soapy fruit, and alcohol are all apparent. Belgian yeast is heavily evident in the seemingly flemish sour character. Doughy caramel in the middle. Finishes sticky and reasonably attenuated. Excellent. 9/4/9/4/18

Bottle. this was a great special beer. murky brown body. sour fruit, cherry, and light hop aroma. a great sourness that wasn’t nearly as overwhelming as say, the Rodenbach Grand Cru, but waaayyy more complex. lingering tartness. a very interesting beer. I wonder if i’ll ever get to sample this again? thanks for the opportunity to try this, Eyedrinkale. 8/4/8/4/17

At the Barrel Aged Fest in Chicago. A very unique and tasty beer. Although I am not a fan of belgian sours, this beer had nice balance between the tartness and the sweetness of the cherries. Beer pours a nice brownish/red with a small head. Overall a nice offering.

Silver foil. Bought in 2003 so this is from 2002 or 2003. Dark red hue with absolutely no head. Strong vinegar nose, a little oak hit, and old cherries. Has the velvety mouthfeel of wine with basically no effervescence. Amazing complexity. Cherry, tartness, oak, vinegar, and just plain good stuff. A little sweet/sugary hit as well; this could use five more years in the closet and still be amazing. Still, absolutely fantastic and original.
