ChazMania (293), Pasadena, California, USA Aug 28, 2008 On tap at San Clemente location. I had a few of these over a long weekend down there. It’s a good pine flavored IPA, very easy to drink, I would have kept drinking it all day but I tried their double IPA and never looked back! This is a great place to hang and relax, I want to go back. BrotherGrendel (155), San Diego (La Jolla), California, USA Aug 23, 2008 On tap at O’Brien’s.
Appearance is a mostly clear dark orange hue, thick head of dense white creamy foam sustains, thick lacing.
Smell is dominated by big pine hops, some grassy/floral hops, sugar and bubblegum.
Taste is mildly bitter hops with light pine flavor, some grapefruit and light citrus, finishes bitter and dry.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, creamy smooth texture with some oily resin, moderate carbonation.
Drinkability is high, a solid single IPA that is very smooth and creamy for the style, hops are at a moderate level and not overwhelming, lacking some boldness here but otherwise very good. SCBrew (25), San Clemente, California, USA Aug 15, 2008 Growler. Beautiful golden color, fairly clear. Big fruity, piney hop aroma. Medium body with the right amount of carmel sweetness. Huge hop flavor. An absolute Must Try beer. yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at San Clemente. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Grapefruity and pine needle hops aroma. Flavour is dense hoppy but with a good solid caramel malt base. Dry and bitter into the fnish with a declining hops fruity accent. kyzr (917), Bozeman, Montana, USA Mar 22, 2008 Nice golden pour with decent sized white head. Hoppy citrus nose. Flavor is big fresh squeezed orange juice with grassy notes. Good amount of hops that keep the palate working to the end.
