On tap at San Clemente location. I had a few of these over a long weekend down there. It’s a good pine flavored IPA, very easy to drink, I would have kept drinking it all day but I tried their double IPA and never looked back! This is a great place to hang and relax, I want to go back.

On tap at O’Brien’s. Appearance is a mostly clear dark orange hue, thick head of dense white creamy foam sustains, thick lacing. Smell is dominated by big pine hops, some grassy/floral hops, sugar and bubblegum. Taste is mildly bitter hops with light pine flavor, some grapefruit and light citrus, finishes bitter and dry. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, creamy smooth texture with some oily resin, moderate carbonation. Drinkability is high, a solid single IPA that is very smooth and creamy for the style, hops are at a moderate level and not overwhelming, lacking some boldness here but otherwise very good.

Growler. Beautiful golden color, fairly clear. Big fruity, piney hop aroma. Medium body with the right amount of carmel sweetness. Huge hop flavor. An absolute Must Try beer.

From tap at San Clemente. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Grapefruity and pine needle hops aroma. Flavour is dense hoppy but with a good solid caramel malt base. Dry and bitter into the fnish with a declining hops fruity accent.

Nice golden pour with decent sized white head. Hoppy citrus nose. Flavor is big fresh squeezed orange juice with grassy notes. Good amount of hops that keep the palate working to the end.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2009 On tap @ the Liarís Club in Alpine back in early 01/08. Pours a clear deep gold with lasting ring of white foam. The aroma is full with a load of grapefruit juice, some tangelo and orange juice. Just plain old YUMMM. The taste is fruity grapefruit and tangelo juice that dominates the flavor and becomes more and more bitter into the after taste. Midway and to the finish a sweet maltiness rises up and feebly competes(and loses) to the hops. Excellent IPA.

tap @ papago. pours a brown shade of gold with an off white head and decent lace work. aroma is candied citrus peel, grass and piney hops. flavor is much the same... hops being the dominant theme. the palate is full of very dry grapefruit skin, pine and grassy hops barely touched with malty sweetness. the finish is grassy and lingers long enough to burp up rosemary. medium body with active carbonation... extra points for being so dry!

Draft at new Liarís Club in Alpine. Hoppy, fruity aromas. Apricot and grapefruit. Hoppy flavors as well. Grass and floral with grapefruit on the finish. Pretty good.

Draft: Golden orange. Foamy, big-bubbled head. Extremely fragrantly and pungently hoppy aroma. Lots of tangerine peel, resin, and peach scents. Quite flowery with a hint of fresh grass. Fluffy carbonation. Oily on the palate. Inundation of hop-derived oils scrape the tongue with a brash leafiness. Despite the onslaught of resins, the underlying hop character possesses ample succulence and brightness which negates much of the unpleasant brashness. Fusion of grassy bitterness and spicy orange steadily intensify but never become overbearing. Although they arenít notably soft or vividly defined, crackery whispers of malt caress the hops with a dainty sweetness.Hints of mango and fresh sliced oranges explode and saturate the palate before linking up with a flowery-soft core to help squelch the slightly acidic hop aspects. Finishes appetizingly sharp in its assertive peach skin and orange-laden bitterness. Accents of grass and tongue-numbing oils lag behind the bright hoppiness. Malt generates a gentle dustiness, which lingers, but never interferes with the hops due to its cleanness. Although itís considerably resinous, brash and alcoholic, this has a number of qualities that so many IPAs lack: A soft yet flavorful and explosive hop character. Purdy good.
