hapjydeuce (622), Carlsbad, USA Sep 10, 2008 Served on cask at O’Briens back in early August. Opaque yellow-orange color with a bit of whispy white lacing. Spicy hops aroma with bitter grapefruit citrus and a grainy malt undertone. Earthy finish with a character of soil, pine resin and orange peel. I remember it being served too warm, which probably downgraded my experience overall. Pretty decent.
kmweaver (2273), Nicaragua Nov 27, 2008 Draft @ Pizza Port - San Clemente. Pours a dense, slightly pulpy orange color; off-white head with great retention and fine-bubbled lacing that coats the glass; great pour. Solid amounts of candy sugar coupled to a dense citrus, grapefruit, and earthy bitterness; solid and clearly expressed. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense, chewy oranges, citrus, and earthy bitterness; pitty fruits, orange peel, some dense hop bitterness; very solid, tasty IPA. Lengthy finish: bitter citrus, earthiness, and toasty malts. Nik925 (176), USA Nov 20, 2008 The sweetness fades to bitter in the mouth. A lot of bitter! The two tastes never meld together so it never becomes more than a sum of its parts, however, those parts are still excellent. This is a great beer, but when at PIzza Port you have access to so much amazing beer that this tastes ordinary at the time. Theis (2495), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008. Clear yellow - white head. Grassy, resin, knækbrød, swedish flatbread, light malty, perfumed, high bitterness, lovely. doubleo (966), San Diego, California, USA Sep 29, 2008 On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours hazy with a thin white head, some lace. Smells caramelly grassy and hoppy bitter. Tastes grassy and bitter hoppy with some lingering caramel sweetness. Slight citrus flavor as well. Full body, good carbonation.
