Draught @ Mikkeller Bar. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a small chocolate brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, wood, coffee, burnt oats, bitter chocolate and hints of smoke and molasses. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, ash, wood, dark bread, oats and burnt caramel. Mouthfeel is round, tiny dry, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with coffee and roasted malts.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Black beer with a small beige head. Cocoa aroma, chocolate, milky notes, some vanilla. Licorice flavor, milky, vanilla notes, roasted, a bit thin. Chocolate finish.

Sweet aroma, with strong oatmeal (surprising to smell) and roastiness. Pitch black in color with a tan head. A sweeter stout with a nice roast finish; quite smotth...as suggested.

Tap at Pizza Port San Clemente. Clear, deep cola pour. No lace really. Dark cherries and cola in the nose. Taste is richer macadamia nut and coconut oil with a slicker mouthfeel. Big silky oat character to the point of almost diacetyl but there is none in the nose. Very yummy, oily stout. 5.5% is hilarious. Not as clean as the Pier Rat Porter.

Tap @ brewery. Thick chocolate pour with thin lasting tan head. Sweet oat aroma. Bitter coffee smoothed out a bit with the oats. Nice milky smooth body with bitter finish from coffee.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of vinegar and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, malt, soy sauce, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

On tap at PP San Clemente. It pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is roasted coffee, mealy oats, and grains. The flavor is roasted and a bit cola like with some density on the palate, but without much substance. A little bit of coffee comes through in the finish.

On tap at The Monk. Pour is black with a small cream head. Lots of roasted notes on the nose with some additions of light chocolate and coffee. Sweet chocolate in the flavour, some moderate bitterness but nothing big or over the top. Not bad
