16oz tap pour at Bressi Ranch. Inky black pour with large mocha foam. Aroma of hot chocolate, s’mores, graham cracker. Taste is a bit sweeter than Order in the Port, not as hoppy, but a much better beer structurally than Night Rider. Thicker, chewy mouthfeel like brownie batter, extremely rich body, perhaps the most "massive" beer made by any Pizza Port, though not as approachable as Death Star and not as ’perfect’ as Order in the Port with the latter’s high hop balance. Better than Barrel Aged Night Rider.

Keg at PP Ocean Beach, 19/04/14. Black with a moderate tan covering that soon dissipates to zero. Nose is big roast, chocolate, light spice, molasses. Taste comprises rich chocolate, roast malt, molasses, dark toffee fudge, brown sugardom. Medium + body, fine carbonation. Easy drinking impy, the 11% doesn’t rear its head much, lacks depth though.

Pours a jet black color with a short lived head. Got the aroma of dark chocolate and coffee. The flavor is of coffee and chocolate. Goes down real smooth. Overall a great beer named after a great band.

On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of medium roasted malt, some chocolate and medium sweetness. Flavour brings out loads of sweet roasted malt, light coffee notes, and a touch of cocoa. Very well-balanced without any harshness or cloying sweetness.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2014 > Ultra massive RIS is currently Pizza Port’s biggest beer

[ Keg ][ 16oz ][ PP Bressi Ranch ][ $8 ][ Conical Pint ][ 6.9.14 ]
>> Shared with biggirlpanties, good revisit on this beer. Inky pour, dense mocha foam. Nose is soft and luscious with brownie and melted dark chocolate, vanilla, alcohol. Taste is thick brownie and chocolate cake batter. Dense and spicy. Good bitterness, balanced alcohol surprisingly for this batch, much improved. Massive density, ultra high. no acid or harshness. Don’t think it’s that sweet this time around. Spicy finish. Powerful. This remake is greatly improved. 8/4/9/5/17=4.3

>!< a tad sweet and could be hoppier

Tap at Ocean Beach. Pours opaque ink, low carbonation with spotty lacing. Nose is soy, cookie, dark chocolate, sweet cocoa. Taste is richer coffee, mild alcohol. Thicker/dense body. 9/3/2013 =3.4

On tap @ Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Pours deep inky black with minimal head. Aroma is deeply roasted malt, espresso, soy sauce, and dark chocolate. Taste is similar - super roasty malt with big soy and espresso notes, a bit of chocolate in the finish. Very thick mouthfeel. I don’t know this band but a google search suggests this is a fitting beer for them. Nice RIS.
