Tap at the Cask, Pimlico - 14/12/12. Pours a hazy dark chestnut brown with a thin off white head which escapes to the edge leaving a film. Nose is pine, hops, grapefuit, light chlorine notes. Taste follows, caramel malt, sweet candied sugars, orange. Medium to full in body, soft carbonation - a little over spritzy for my liking. Decent enough none the less.

31/10/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Rossiccia, leggermente torbida, bella schiuma biancastra, abbondante e persistente. Al naso una esplosione di luppoli, malti, sentori di tostato, detersivo per piatti. In bocca malto, caramello, quindi vira sull’amaro spinto, ancora detersivo per piatti, limone, pompelmo. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Confusionaria, ma discreta.

Sample had the FFF Anniversary Party. Served in a plastic sampling cup. A: Pours a deep purplish red combination with an off white head. Leaves a trail of sticky lace on the way down. S: Smells of your typical red ale. Candied fruit sweetness, red apples and some nice caramel malts. T: Bitter hops and unripe apples upfront with some toasted malts cutting the fruity qualities. Ends with a nice grapefruit. M: Medium to light bodied with a sweet fruit left across the palate. O: Nice red, but pretty typical. Wasn’t out of this world and slightly forgettable. Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet malty base, floral and earthy hops, with lighter fruity hoppy notes. Decent.

Tap. Pours a deep brown to black. Small off white to brown head. Roast is the prominent feature but soon there is a small espresso note in the nose. Taste is malty and dirt like but opens up to some lemon and spicy hops. Cascade like but not exactly. Overall, a lot of pp beers have strong dirt notes. Not bad, just distinct.

This is how I like a red. A red for a west coast hop head. Amazing paired with pizza. I could drink it all night. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ S&B. Deep cherry red color with a massive khaki head. The nose is cherries, strawberry malt. Very bready with heavy brown sugar notes. The taste is bitter hop leaf, some coffee, and roasted malts. Notes of molasses and cherry syrup. Some bitter chocolate. Flabby tasting. Full in body, cumbersomely malty with prickly carbonation. Overall, this one felt like a little less than the sum of its parts. Interesting flavors, but this beer just didn’t do it for me.

On tap at Sour & Bitter. Clear dark amber beer, small tan head. Crispy minerally palate. Nice toffee malt base with good bitterish hops on top. Bitter pine with a little citrus. Carbonated bite in the finish.

From tap at Sour&Bitter in Copenhagen. Brown in the glass, almost black. Small head. Strong-malty aroma. Starts mild-malty, gets stronger, more smokey. Finish dry-malty, some light fruity notes. More stout-like. Good!

S&B 2012. Pours deep clear mahogany with a small off white head leaving lace. Aroma is sweet malty vinous grapes fruity caramel. Flavor is heavier malty and caramel sweet in front with bitterness adding n the middle together with bitterness getting more peppery pungent towards the end. Finishes longlived bitter malty and sweet.
