12 oz bottle thanks to DarkElf! Poured a wonderful shade of orangish/amber with a tall, rocky off-white head. Powerful aroma of grapefruit, orange zest, sweet earth, caramel, and fresh pine needles. That nose was just brilliant... with air freshener-like power. Orange, grapefruit, and pine slide across the palate first, followed by some perfecly-balanced caramel malts. The Cascade hoppage fights its way back, and the brew escalates to a huge finish of citrus, Pinesol, alcohol, and dry bitterness. Long finish that I hope (and think that it possibly might) sticks around ítil Thursday. Brilliant!

From bottle. Poured a cloudy, dull orange with no head and minimal lace. Nose is a delectable sent that reminds me of a strawberry fruit roll-up. Flavor is of an orange, pineapple citrus that mellows into a smooth and sweet bitter finish. Alcohol noticeable, but adds nicely to the overall taste. Mouth-feel is spot on. A wonderful brew.

Wow! This is one fantastic IIPA. The aroma is filled with wonderful hops, mixes of floral, citrus, resiny. All in perfect balance. The taste...oh is right! It just feels like itís full of rich sweet malts and has a wonderful blast of hop flavour that isnít overly bitter and not bland and under done. Itís such a great melody of flavours in my mouth, well blended, great flavour. My only regret is that itís not available locally.

This beer rocks. Very complex in aroma and flavor. Try to keep up. The nose is lightly malty, but ruled by THE HOP. Very heavy hop aroma; specifically flowers, grapefruit and soap... well hopped soap?? The high alcohol content also comes through in the nose. The beer has a clear and flat amber appearance. The creamy, white head is mostly lasting with excellent lacing. The initial flavor is very well balanced. Moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The back end is owned by the moderately bitter finish. Itís also lightly acidic and salty back there and it lasts and lasts. The mouthfeel is between medium and full. Itís also dry with lively carbonation. Also, moderately alcoholic in the finish. Very, very good strong ale.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2004 Interesting, orangey-brown with a great head. Nice presence on the tongue; richly smooth and thickish. Big piney hops up the nose. Cookie, cakey malts. Awesome hop flavors and aromas. Some spice and citrus as well. Tremendously well-balanced with a nice level of bitterness. I really liked this one!

On draft, Pizza Port San Clemente. Beautiful orange/brown with a tight, creamy, head. What really impressed me was the creaminess of this hop-monster! Lots of hop flavor & aroma, but a terrific mouthfeel that was smooth & creamy.

Golden amber orange with a nice creamy head.Hazy.A Reeeeaaaallll treat for the schnaaazola. Not that "just a blast of grapefruit Hops" that a lot of Dbl IPAís have but more like you are standing in between the floral shop and the fruit counter at your local food co-op.These are put together masterfully and I do not want to take my nose out of the glass. The sweetness here is nowhere near some of the other Dblís I have had.The body carries the flavors into a fine finish. Thanks to cquiroga for this fine brew.

Cloudy amber color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was Fantastic, hops, grapefruit and juicyfruit gum, maybe even a slight hint of pineapple and apricot going on there as well. The flavor is fruity with a nice hoppy taste that makes you not want to stop drinking the brew. The grapefruit side is not nearly as hardcore as i was thinking it might be,but very pleasantly done.Nice hop after taste with a nice grapefruit side to it.very nicely done brew, and Thanks go to Jcalabre for sending this fine brew my way.

Thanks to JohnC for hooking me up with this, awesome double IPA, hazy & somewhat cloudy appearance, light orange color, generous soft off-white head, nice lacing around the glass, huge hop aroma, but also had a very nice touch of malt as well, very floral & grassy nose, full-bodied, excellently balanced, the hops get your first in the flavors & body then a full assault of malt to back it all up, dry & bitter, very flavorful, very hoppy & dry finish & aftertaste, great imperial ipa

Beautiful amber color. Strong perfumy aroma, pleasant, inviting; hoppy, fruity. Balanced taste, beween the strong bitterness and the big sweetness.
