Vac (2274), San Diego, California, USA Mar 20, 2004 This ale pours with a clear orange-gold body topped by a medium thick head with good lacing. The aroma is lsightly sweet and very grapefruity from the hops. A slight piney bitterness is also observed. The flavor is bitter and hoppy with a pronounced piney note and a slight grapefruit note. A very slight sweet maltiness lingers in the background. Light to medium bodied and smooth with a slight dryness. 21iceman40 (1671), north little rock, Arkansas, USA Feb 2, 2004 Glowing clear gold. Bright head, that is really thick. Paint and hop aroma, boring and blandish. No real flavor at all to speak of. Cmon port, ya'll are usually way better than this. DaSilky1 (1669), San Diego, California, USA Jan 31, 2004 yeah, im sick of nitro'd beers. This one was a hazy orange color and put forth an orange-zest painted aroma..it was too damn cold and it was too damn dull tasting..there were hints of orange here and there with some hoppy bitterness, but everything ends abruptly. unclebleen (620), California, USA Jan 27, 2004 Updated: Feb 6, 2004(Rerate) Well I tried this again and apparently the nitro tap was screwed up the first time or something. Anyway, it looked much better and the body was much more pleasant this time. (Original rating) On nitro: Pours a strange yellow color with a much smaller white head than one would expect from a nitro pour. Aroma is chemicals, hair spray, and some yeast and malt notes. Flavor is reminiscent of an American Macro with an artificial sweetness. The body is watery with little substance. In general, pizza port puts out some stellar brews but this is not too impressive.
