Golden-brown. Slightly toasty with a chewy toffee nose. Slight chewiness in the palate, too, with hints of molasses and vague nuts.

On tap at Taproom in Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA--Poured a dark brown-chestnut0tinged body with a little sudsy whitish head. Big grainy, cereal and mild coffee nose. Sweet and reminiscent of Captain Crunch/Mr. T cereal/Sugar Smacks. bright, crisp mouthfeel. Bready, grainy, cereal. Pretty decent.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours a medium brown colorwith a moderate off-white head, some lace. Smells of subdued toasty malts. Tastes malty, roasty and earthy hoppy, slight caramel flavors. Very complex flavors, a little ashy-ness in there as well much like Abyss. Medium body, dry, smooth carbonation.

On tap at PPC. Solid deep amber pour with no head or lace. No nose to speak of but no bad aromas. Maltiness with a slight hint of sulphur but nothing that really takes away more than a tad. Thin and foamy but again right on the edge of being better than it is. A decent drinker but not special for me.

On draft...really nice aroma for being such a small brew. --- Taste was similar with a hint of coffee and chocolate. Rather malty and nice mouthfeel...impressive brown ale!

wow excellent brown ale, very flavorful and gives you a good buzz, alcohol very well masked, pours a deep brown with small tan head, goes down smooth, very impressive, one of the better brown ales i have had!

Pours with a reddish-brown body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a slight roastiness, a little anise and a hint of hops. Medium to full bodied and tingly on the tongue.
