rayg1 (410), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Nov 10, 2007 I scored a growler of this at the Angel’s Share release 11/10/07. Pours out a light orange color with a thin white head over top. Upon cracking the seal of this beer you get overwhelmed with citrus smells, even before helping yourself to a glass. As I was saying, aroma is the biggest smack of grapefruit and pine resin you can think of, a beautiful and inviting smell. This stuff tastes so clean of hops. Wow, obviously grapefruit domninates but if you take a second to explore..... pine sap followed by a hint of sugar and vanilla. This is one hell, of and IPA. Fairly modest alcohol makes it very drinkable for anyone who loves hops, and don’t let me fool you this one is all about the hops.
dkachur (1070), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 4, 2008 22 ounce bottle courtesy of riversideAK. Thanks Alex! Shared with Alraomon. Poursa an orange-yellow color with a medium head. Low head retention and moderate lacing. Huge fresh and leafy hop aroma with a few malty notes. Strong pineapple/grapefruit hop taste. Full bodied. Very nice. DuffMan (2139), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 29, 2008 Bomber shared with Parksy and non-RB friends. Pours an orange-tinted golden with a dense cream-coloured head that displays remarkable retention and nice lacing. Big fresh fruity hop aromas (mango peel, citrus). This beer is all about the hops, but they are married to a nice sweet malt balance. Really nice. kosko20 (199), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA Nov 28, 2008 So I think this would have been better fresh. It seemed the hop aroma and flavor had gone away some and the hop characteristics were pretty weak. Nonetheless, it was still a decent brew but almost no bitterness. JoeMcPhee (3899), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 28, 2008 Tap at Hamilton’s. Pale golden straw coloured beer with a thin white head. Softly hoppy aroma. Light pine and a light lemony citrus as well.. Very lean pale malts and a soft zesty hoppiness as well. Less resinous than the aroma would suggest. Soft lemon balm flavour with a soft pale malt sweetness. Very light herbal bitterness. Fruity with just a touch of resinousness on the back. It’s a light brew, but a pretty decent one. Hairofthedog (418), San Diego, California, USA Nov 27, 2008 The aroma was fruity and slightly maltywith hints of peaches and grapefruits. The beer poured a clear, medium brown color with thin lasting head and lacing. The flavor was lightly malty with citrus, peach, and a slight hint of pine. The mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and good carbonation. A really good beer!
