Cottony white head on a shimmering gold body with a substantial load of hop particles. Fruity mango and grapefruit, plus fresh resinous hop cones and light pale malt sweetness underneath. Nicely rendered hop bitterness. Assertive, but not coarse or rough. Very skillfully crafted IPA. I’ve been having a major hop craving lately and this beer was extremely satisfying.

Aug 12, 2008 Pours a bright, clear pale golden with a puffy white head that lingered for a while leaving good lacing. The smell was citrus hops, mainly lemons with a bit of grapefruit, with a bit of pine. Not nearly as fragrant as I expected. The taste mirrors the aroma with some citrus and pine on top of a bready malt backbone. There is a decent hop bitterness but nothing overpowering. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with decent carbonation and a slight hop stickiness. I enjoyed this one but I really think I would enjoy it much more fresh. Compared to the fresh Hop 15 I had recently, it just doesn’t stack up. I will seek a fresh bottle of this one when it’s released again.

Jul 14, 2008 Pours a hazy murky dark yellow with a nice soapy white head. There is quite a bit of sediment in this one. Aroma of hops, malt, citrus. Flavor is hops, citrus, pine, resin, and lots of malt to balance it out, but not so much that it becomes overly sweet. Good IPA.

Jun 20, 2008 22oz bottle from Ughsmash pours cloudy medium-dark yellow with a white head. Nose of dank greens, nutty hops and a bit like caramel malt. Flavor is overipened pineapple and mango and green, leafy herbs. Medium to heavy bitterness, somewhat fresh but also has some wet bread/malt/nut flavor.

Jun 18, 2008 bottle, yellow cloudy color, pineapple and bitternes on the nose, flavor is pineapple, guava, and bitter lemon, finish is dry and bitter also, a good IPA
