COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Aroma of vanilla, citrus, strong grapefruit and leafy hops. Pours a medium golden color with a pretty large foam top. Huge, delicious hoppy bite upfront quickly followed by leafy, bready, barley and grapefruit flavors. Subtle carbonation with a strong bitterness. Overall, an intensly strong, bitter hop flavor with light touches of grapefruit and bready malts. I’d give this an A+ rating.

6 cl bottle with my usual Tasting Group in Athens. Hazy orange color, small white head, that quickly faints. Very fresh aromatic hop aroma of citric fruits, peaches and some pine. Flavor has some cramel malts but is domianted by fruity hops. It leads to a drx rather bitter finish. nice one.

Reddish orange body with a big off-white head. The aroma has a nice caramel malt base in addition to a strong American hop profile with citrus and pine. Flavor is really bitter, sweet caramel malt and fruity. All flavors are rather strong, but there is a certain balance to it and the high alcohol is dangerously well hidden.

Fresh bottle @ the home shared with those who love beer. Pours medium to dark golden color. Not much head on mine, so i feared the worst, but nothing came of it as one of my fellow drinkers had a nice one. Absolute hop bomb! The aromas of citrus nad pine were not as fresh or sharp as my encounter with Hopslam, but they almost seemed a bit richer and rounded. Mouthfeel was fantastic big hops up front lots of lemon zest, grapfruit, and pine dominating the palate with a medium to full bodied feel. Goes down like I could drink 10% all day. Ranks up there with Captain Lawrence reserve IIPA but just short of fresh pliny. Great bottle!

this pours an eggshell colored multi-sized bubble small head that dissipates quickly.....amberish yellow-red look. nose is citrus, piney, orange zest with a slight lemon peel under. taste is well balanced. hoppy and yummy/citrus delight. mouthfeel is stunning, the bitterness just right with the malt bankbone rambling till a delightfully dry finish. grapefuit..lime , orange peel. great great beer. dangerously drinkable for a 10% beer.

Bottle @ Uni bar, Århus. Pours golden with a nice sized white head. Aroma of bready malt, caramel, fruity hops, citruss, pine. Taste is malt, caramel, licorice, peach and other tropical fruit, oranges, grapefruit, piney hops. Medium body, soft carbonation, great balance with a lasting bitter finish, good drinkability. Lovely IIPA.151011

Draft at brewery. Pours a deep cloudy orange with a big white head, good lacing/retention. Aroma is great: grass, pine, resin, citrus, caramel, bread. Basically every hop aroma you can imagine is here. Taste is a bit unbalanced: very bitter, bordering on astringent, producing an odd wood flavor, light booze, caramel, grass. Medium bodied, oily texture, bitter/astringent finish.

Super dry-hoppy-piney aroma. Light copper color with off-white head. Dry piney-hop flavor...one of the more dry IPAs I’ve had.
