This beer poured a mostly clear amber with a two-finger thick head of lasting beige foam. Excellent lacing. The aroma was made up of fresh peach, grapefruit, pine cones, along with a solid dose of toffee. The flavor was much the same. Tons of hoppy goodness, along with a sturdy caramel backbone. Finished with a smooth, lasting bitterness. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and a touch resiny. Minimal carbonation. A really nice DIPA. Loaded with hops...I would love to try this on tap from a freshly filled keg. moelikebeer (220), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Dark amber/orange, opaque pour with little head. Aroma of hops; mostly citrusy, though some pine is in there as well. Great flavor! Loads of hops; lots of citrus and pine notes, but all very well balanced by some sweet malt goodness! Gonna have to get my hands on more of this! Praetorian (86), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Golden-orange in color with a tiny white head. The aroma is of citrus, hops, and caramel with slight floral notes as well. The flavor is very bitter and hoppy with notes of cirtus and caramel with a slightly sweet finish. The texture is syrupy. A great double IPA, very enjoyable...not quite the same caliber as Pliny and Ruination, but damn good nonetheless. rich9152 (1), Thornton, Colorado, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Fresh hop aroma of sweet citrus in front of a malty background presence.
Appearance is deep gold color with a long lasting small bubble persistent off-white head.
The hop bitterness on this big-bodied beer slightly over-balances the complex malt. Hop Flavor matches aroma. Finishes dry from the bitterness that remains on your palate.
Reminds me of eating Ruby-Red grapefruit. Great Double IPA. ChristianScheffel (4689), Odense, Denmark

Sweet malty flavour with biscuit and peach notes, a touch of tobacco. Finishing both bitter and malty. Rciesla (3915), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber body with a white top. Huge hop aromas, pine, grapefruit, grass, light earth, citrus and a thin malt body. The alcohol is so well hidden in this vast array of hop characteristics, making it one incredible dipa. Awesome beer. lebshiff21 (85), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA

Very fruity and hoppy. Alcohol is hidden very well. Great beer. roguemonk (9), Orland Park, Illinois, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 12, 2009 I was stunned...The alcohol, at 10%, was not overstated. The hop character was perfectly balanced in both aroma and on the palette. I feel fortunate to have been able to experience this...A great DIPA.
