COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Hazy amber/orange color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of pine hops, caramel malt, citrus, & some fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel, rich pine hops, some mango/pineapple, and citrus (notably tangerine & grapefruit); Finish is dry & bitter; Nicely balanced & complex; Overall, packs a wallop of hops - excellent IPA.

On keg at the Brewdog Bar, Edinburgh for their IPA Wars. The beer was a cloudy golden colour with a generous white head. Fruity hop aroma of pineapple, mango and sweet wedding cake. Flavours of pine, pineapple and orange. Quite bitter. I remember the bottle having more hop aroma, being more bitter and a little more resinous. I found this keg a bit sweet.

Poured from bomber, pours a nice orange with a decent white head and lacing through out the glass, the aroma is full of tropical fruit, pine and a hint of malt, the flavor is a great mixture of pineapple, orange with a touch of pine. The hops and the malt are blended perfectly, everything a nice DIPA should be.

Big bottle shared with Leif and Skinnyviking at Bishop Arms in Copenhagen. Huge, pillow-like, off-white head. Amber-gold with a slight haze. Inviting aroma of rounded floral hops, hints of caramel sweetness. Fine blended taste of bitter hops and sweet malts, a mix of pine needles, citrus shells and caramel malts leading to a nice lingering bittersweet finish. Great tasting brew, 29.05.2011.

Pours a slightly murky dark orange color. Massive hop nose with pine and grapefruit. Surprisingly enough the taste opens quite sweet with caramel and a full, syrupy body. In the middle we get the hops, again full of delicious ripe grapefruit, resiny pine and loads of spice. Given that there are 15 different hop varieties in here the hops are blended really harmoniously and do not clash with each other. The heavy malt backbone makes this a rather sweet DIPA. Even though the bitterness can’t quite compete the spiciness can - it really assaults your mouth and makes you forget the initial sweetness. It all ends on a bitter-sweet note, putting a big grin on my face and leaving me wanting more.
