COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bomber bottle. Pours dark orange with lots of yellow white head, with good retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet citrusy - grapefruit to dried apricot and biscuity malt. Taste is lemony to grapefruit hops with a caramel/toffee malt backbone, finishing moderately bitter and spicy with a bit of a boozy note. excellent dipa.

Draft at 1702. Pours hazy gold/amber; thin white head, very solid lacing. Nose is quite lifted: grapefruit, spruce, pine resin; flavours are quite juicy; peach, grapefruit, mildly astringent finish. Solid, above-average IPA.

Aroma is light but filled with the smell of citrus and pine.Appearance is a golden/ orange color that pours with a white thin head that only lasts for a short time. The carbonation is great and the taste is very well balanced. The alcohol is hidden completely and the most prominent flavors are that of hops and a light malt backbone. Wonderful beer, I have been liking Port Brewings beer quite a bit as of late and I hope they continue with the large amount of port/ lost abbey beers

Definitely one of the better DIPAs out there, nice floral aroma, good head, thick, fuzzy, murky orange color. Taste is very hoppy, can taste the benefit of hopping 15 times, nice body to back it up, abv well hidden for 10%, a bit boozy on the finish but not too much so. Taste is sharp and bitter, dominated by citrus and floral flavors, strong tang on the back end. Well done, very rich dipa, solid, one of the best IMO.

A: The beer pours an opaque orange color with a solid finger of white head and some sticky lacing. S: Initially smells pretty boozy, but that eventually fades and there is a lot of sweet fruit going on here. Pineapple, mango, tangerine, and grapefruit make up the bulk of the hop aroma. A touch of sugar which accentuates the sweetness. T: Lots of sweet tropical fruit with a moderate level of bitterness to it. Mild pine but plenty of grapefruit and pineapple with a touch of orange. A slight booze creeps in on the back end. There’s a really oily hop feel to this beer. M: Medium to full in body with a moderate to high carbonation and a lingering bitterness. D: This used to be one of my favorite DIPAs, but lately I’ve found it to be too sweet. It’s still a good beer, but no longer one of my top choices.

Happy to add the 1000th rating for Hop 15! Bomber served in a tulip. Four months old. Pours very hazy glowing dark orange. Large off-white top. Good retention and excellent lacing. Very promising. Pine, orange, grapefruit, overripe pineapple, and cereal and hay malt. Bitter flavor that becomes even more pronounced as you sip on. Also a hint of sweet, but the alpha acids dominate throughout. Grapefruit, pine, and heat. Full-medium body, soft carbonation, oily-thick texture, and an ultra-long, bitter-astringent finish. I could drink this again... and again. Hope to find it fresh on tap soon.

Poured into a sniffer from 22oz bottle. Appearance is nice, light with a thick white head. Aroma is so hoppy my teeth cringed! Flavour is hoppy, but smooth. Finishes dry and clean. Mouth feel is nice, medium body, and lively carbonation. This is a great double IPA!

Orange coloured, good head. Smell is very hoppy, citrus oranges, light spiced. Taste is bitter hops, oranges, citrus spices. Decent light dry earthy aftertaste. Nicely hopped.
