4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Scopey (1192) - Croydon, Surrey, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2011
Bottle at Brewdog Aberdeen. Pours cloudy orange with a foamy off-white head that thins quickly. Nose; pine, resin, lots of tropical/citrus fruits - oranges, peaches, grapefruit, pineapple, subtle malt. Taste; pine, resin, varnish, tropical citrus fruits, subtle caramel and fairly obvious alcohol. Medium bodied and slightly syrupy. Impressive IPA.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 bigabe (166) - California, USA - FEB 1, 2011
A truly amazing IPA. It’s like Pliny with an attitude. The nose is complex - hops, bitter grapefruit, a little sweet fruit, and some malt as well. Flavor starts out citrusy sweet, then turns in to a hop smack, and finishes long with a bitter citrus/grapefruit flavor that cleans your palate. Definitely a completely full bodied beer - one of the biggest Imperial IPAs I have ever had. This is an artfully executed, complex, yet well balanced beer. It truly is a symphony.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 johnnnniee (909) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 29, 2011
Finally getting around to trying this one, seems every time I get a bottle I end up trading it away.
Pours a crystal clear orange amber color with a two finger fluffy white head that dissipates to lace on the glass. Smells of resin and grapefruit, a bit of syrupy caramel in there too. Tastes like drinking hop juice. Overloads the taste buds with bitter resinous pine and citrus. There’s some malt in there somewhere, but it has trouble finding me. Lingering bitterness on the tongue makes you take another sip. Syrupy mouthfeel leaves an almost sticky taste in your mouth. Crisp carbonation, medium to thick in the body. As advertised this is one hoppy beer. I rather enjoyed this, it lives up to the hype.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mile (1221) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 29, 2011
Bottle. Amber, hazy, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty sweetish fruity aroma, sweet grapefruit hoppyness, light toffee and alcohol. Body is medium, malty and sweetish fruity flavor, piney hoppyness, some alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, lots of piney hoppyness and alcohol. Too much alcohol considering the body and hoppyness.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mattyb83 (589) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 28, 2011
Bottle courtesy of thome50. Pour is fairly clear (maybe slightly hazy) amber in color. Beer has a large white head which is likely due to the fact that I pour beers like crap. Nice aroma with grapefruit, orange, pine, and what seems like juniper. Taste has loads of bitter grapefruit, some pineapple, and caramel. Strong alcohol presence towards that finish that really detracts from the taste. Pretty good, but I wish the alcohol presence could have been masked better.
