COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

22oz bottled Dec 15, 2010. Pours hazed orange/amber with a one finger bubbly off-white head that leaves some spots of lace and holds a very bubbly cap (kind of odd looking head). Aroma is pineapple and tropical fruits, oranges, grapefruit, a bit of cannabis and cat spray, some malt. Good strength. Flavor starts with some serious resinous hops and grapefruit rind, also some pine, orange, pineapple, and a healthy dose of caramel malt and along with it some noticeable solvent alcohol. Moderate sweetness, moderate to good bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to full, oily, medium carbonation. Very good DIPA, my only real gripe is the alcohol is far too noticeable and could be integrated better. Overall more impressed with their Wipeout IPA but still will try another batch of this in the future.

Very nice, I love it. My first taste of Port IPA. Right off the bat, I could smell that it was the real deal. The nose on this one is hopped up and right on point. Its resiny, piney, lumberyard, cedar, sweet, spicy, alco-esters, apricots, and citron. Appearance is clean, smooth, amber orange red, beautiful. Taste....OMG...pine needles, lupulin, nuggets, cedar, hops, hops, hops, leather, alcohols, refreshing, crisp, spice left over, delicious. Palate is covered in resinous hops, alochol esters, 2x4 boards, for a 10% offering the alcohol is there but undercover nicely. Just a really well thought out, balanced, hopped up, version of an IPA. Awesome. Get one

Bomber. Clear orange pour with a big white head that faded and left some good lace. Aroma was pine, tropical fruits, light peach, some sweetness, all in great fashion and balance. Hopped to perfection. Flavors were rip your face off hop goodness in every way. Huge bitterness from top to bottom, big. Piney, fruity, light caramel, citrus, earthy, just about every hop characteristic is represented here. Big in every way. Mouthfeel was slightly viscous, you could feel the hop oils. Carbonation was medium, just right. Excellent!

22oz bottle.Pours a darker cloudy orange with a medium thick white head.Nose is citrus, pine and earthy hop notes.Taste is extremely hoppy with bitter pine, tropical citrus and earthy chalky hops followed by creamy malts. This is a well balanced west coast IPA.I can really appreciate this beer.I cannot wait to try this side by side with Hopslam,Pliny,Gubna and others of this stature.Well done!

This brewer is new to GA and, after reading of its exploits for some times on the Interwebs, I poured this 22 oz bottle dated 12.15.10 into a snifter with great relish. Nothing could have lived up to the advanced billing, yet somehow the beer managed not to disappoint. It poured a caramel color with a thin head that quickly reduced to a ring. The aroma filled the kitchen with hops, and the body followed suit, with just enough malty backbone and sweetness to make this palatable in the mouth before a long, bitter finish. An outstanding beer that stands up either to sipping by itself or in combination with flavorful cuisine.

Bottle (in NZ). Sorry, but for me, an uncontrolled hop bomb. Lacks the balance I would be wanting. Struggled through it.

Cloudy golden-orange with a small white head. Fresh fruity aroma with zesty orange and lemon, cookies and fruit bread. There is a light sweetness, partly from the alcohol, to get some kind of back-up to the heavy, clean bitterness.
