4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Beer2000 (2919) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 5, 2011
650 ml bottle. Reddish orange body with a big off-white head. The aroma has a nice caramel malt base in addition to a strong American hop profile with citrus and pine. Flavor is really bitter, sweet caramel malt and fruity. All flavors are rather strong, but there is a certain balance to it and the high alcohol is dangerously well hidden. This is close to a perfect DIPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 11, 2009
A nice honey orange colored brew with almost no head. Aroma wafts from the glass in a sweet citrus floral. A closer sniff brought some nice grapefruit and some funkiness. Flavor is big grapefruit with that funk. The grapefruit brings a big tart bite and there is gobs of caramel but they only partially balance. A peppery spiciness adds some interesting complexity and it compliments the alcohol warming nicely. There is no carbonation noticed and the feel is medium. This is a top quality beer that has so much to offer. Great flavor and so unique and interesting!

Pours a bright clear gold/orange with fluffy head. Bitter piney hops, resinous, grapefruit, floral, hints of spice, and bready malt. Somce caramel, and this beer is cleaner and easier to drink then expected. Very good.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mjs (2865) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 25, 2009
(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-01-23) Amber and hazy. Medium sized quite quikcly disappearing white head. Hops, grass and malts in aroma. Full bodied and dry palate with medium carbonation. Hops, grass, malts, saltiness, bitterness and fruitiness in taste. Bitter and malty aftertaste.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2008 pours a muddled copper. aromas of malt and sweetened grapefruit juice. medium bodied thats enriched with some warmth . flavor is malt, honey and more grapefruit juice along with the skin. hops come through as floral and fruity, not piney. it’s not nearly as hoppy or bitter as i expected. almost disappointingly well balanced.minnesotans will be happy to know that furious is still better and it’s only got one I. 8/3/8/3/17
on cask @ papago 9/3/9/5/17 =4.4 nice mellowed woody hop aroma is everywhere. the flavor is amped with hops and is super dry. ridiculously creamy mouth feel and cask texture . i wasn’t a fan from the bottle but this is incredible. the hops have awoken!!!!
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 beerbill (2850) - Laurel, New York, USA - APR 22, 2008
I thankfully have 2-22 oz. bottles of this wonderful beer courtesy of Secret Santa & The_Epeeist. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a moderately large linen white head that lasted through most of the glass and left partial lacing. Huge aroma of grapefruit and pine, but the citrus is much stronger than the pine. The flavor is equally good with a solid, strong malt backbone to support the powerful citrussy hops. The bitterness of the hops is strong, but not overwhelming, and balances well against the sweetness of the malt. This is a delicious beer, and I am very glad I have a second bottle on hand!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Butters (2848) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - AUG 2, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2010 The final bomber from Barrios’ Massechussetts trip. Pours a semi-hazy orange with fair ring of offwhite head. Citrusy hop profile, with lots of honey. And some alcohol spice in the flavor, but not in a burning sense. Nice, lingering resiny bitter finish. Good beer for sure, but i think this might be a touch overrated, or this bottle has a little age.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2004 Re-rate 5/22/2004, on draft at O'Brien's SD:
big citrus hoppy nose & flavor, great mouthfeel. although this is a hop monster, there's definitely a good amount of hop backbone. It pours a cloudy golden brown with a nice head.
