Lightly hazed golden ale wuith a thick light moka head. Pleasant hops aroma, like a filed of hops and cloves. In mout, sweet honey malt, with nice crisp complex hops, citrus, treacle. Complex body and smooth. At EBF 2006.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 8, 2011
Kurz würzigerm dann stark hopfiger Antrunk, etwas dunkel werdend. 9/13/12/12/13/12
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 1, 2003
Fully hazy orange-amber. Slight orangey rim of head. Nose, well, hops. Guess!! but also a smell of apple and even more specific golden apple peel. Bitter taste. Imagine. The balance malt-hops is gone, but not the 'inner-hops' balance. Mouthfeel is very thick. The malt wants to be felt at one point; bit oily. Only Tomme would be capable of getting this right. It's lopsided enough, but a lopsided once in a while doesn't hurt.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (6218) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 8, 2004
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 GABF 2004 - Hints of bubble gum in a very creamy and thick hop nose... smooth aroma, if that’s a proper description. Thick and active, fizzy perhaps, but not thin. Sweet creamy citrus sweet mandarin orange hop flavors, soothing thickness and surprisingly not aggressive on the tongue but still very full of hops. An absolutely awesome brew by Pizza Port.
Bottle, September 2008: something around 3.7-4

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 (Tap): A lively, earthy hop mist hovers in the lushest of botanical gardens…Hefty sucre à la crème sweetness characterizes its unique, rich soil where the adamant fruitiness of oranges and peaches, amongst many others, serves as a pedestal for the 16 (yes, 16) hop varieties growing in this wealthy but peaceful jungle…As if this paradise weren’t enticing enough, it is also a silver-tongued behemoth as none of its 16 hop varieties are even close to being muddled…A master is at work here folks and he’s not living above the clouds…Thanks Tomme for the pint!!!…
A young 2005 bottle proved to be even more succulent (if at all possible), giving luxurious, thick malts, as complex as the hopfest which grows within...Absolutely gorgeous in every way, another PP Solana masterpiece...In fact, all bottles I’ve had of this so far have been fantastic, whatever the vintage...Hop heaven!!

Pours with a thick, off-white head covering a murky reddish-orange body. Lacing comes in sheets, and there is always a thing layer of foam left accross the top. The aroma fills the room as soon as it is poured. Lots of pine and grapefruit in the aroma as well as a nice caramel malt balance. Taste is some what strong of alcohol, but not unpleasently so, there is citrus hop bitterness as well as a bit of spiceyness towards the end with a touch of malty sweetness. Creamy mouthfeel with plenty of little bubbles. This is a great DIPA, but I think I actually liked there 2nd Anniversary IIPA more!

Bottle. Amber red and gold with a small head. Aromas are herbal and floral with pine. Very "green" and fresh with some woody notes. Flavours are sweet pine with lots of peppery and spicy character. Some citrus with a bitter finish. Very hoppy and very good.
