Bottle. Pours an amber body with a white top. Huge hop aromas, pine, grapefruit, grass, light earth, citrus and a thin malt body. The alcohol is so well hidden in this vast array of hop characteristics, making it one incredible dipa. Awesome beer.

Bottle that came via Beermerchants/Cave Direct cheers Phil L.This beer poured a hazy orange colour with a lovely spicy, hoppy nose. What a beer a perfect marriage of bitterness and sweetness, in fact in the words of Richard Ashcroft this really is a ’Bittersweet Symphony’. There is grapefruit, light gingerness and a wonderful silky honeyness blending in. Whilst there is no denying the amazing hop bombs that constantly bombard the taste buds, this beer is quite an achievement, bloody marvellous and these sentiments were echoed by all who tried this beer, great stuff. Bottle. Low creamy but lasting off-white head. Clear amber body. Hoppy fruity aroma with a touch of caramel and piney. Flavor more like grapefruit with a good shot of hops bitterness and again the pine needles are evident. Still it is not too much of a good thing as the fruity notes is very well balance with the hops and the high alcohol percentage really could have fooled me. Take care out there. Low carbonation and a long dry dusty and bitter aftertaste.

Draft at Pizza Port Solana Beach: Amber, intense hop nose, columbus and grapefruit, pale malts. The flavor is brisk, sweet and bitter. Loads of each. Nice IPA in the California style, better on tap than cask.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 2008-12-13. Lightly hazy body with a good sized beige head. (4+) . Aroma of citrusy hop, and tangerines initially seems to diminish. Modest malt base, and touches of alcohol. Lightly resiny. (7+) Flavour is quite hoppy but not particularly bitter. Modest resin throughout is dominant character, with a sweetish malty core that has glimpses of caramel. Sweet citrus notes are there to be found but take some effort. Smooth medium to full bodied palate is on the lighter side of carbonation. (4+) Pretty solid but could use just a touch more complexity perhaps? That said, this bottle from Alaska may not be as fresh as possible either, who knows. 7/4/8/4/16-17 Bottle, Brown Jug, Anchorage
Dec 2007. Bottle. Orange body, very small white head (3+). Very hoppy aroma, green and resiny. (7+) Quite bitter, lots of green leafy hops, moderate resin, bit rough in the back of the throat. A nice IPA but it really needs more of the citrusy hops for my liking. Average palate. 7/4/7/3/16 - 3.7

Wonderful hop bomb for a hop head like yours truly. The body’s orange/copper and it has a frothy off-white head. I got a big hit of sharp pine needles followed rapidly by grapefruit, earth, pineapple, and zest of lemon. Delighted by the hops, I still managed to pick up a sweet maltiness in the flavor, smooth, but soon buried under heaps of hops, causing me to split my lips whilst grinning ear to ear. The finish is dry and profoundly bitter, the pine in the forefront. Great beer!
