COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Cloudy orange colour with an off white head. Hoppy, piney bitter aroma with peach fruity notes. Quite hoppy flavor, again with a piney bitterness and a light fruity note.

27th August 2008. Orange cloudy beer. Lots of hops but smooth and fruity. Ubiquitous grapefruit aftertaste. Good IPA - slightly above the myriad crowd of hoppy beers.

Murky amber, nice thick pillowy crown. Aroma absolutely dominated with earthy hops. Flavour more of same, load of hops that leaves even more plate damage with time. Very hoppy as name suggest. I am hop head myself but this time was to much my friends.

Draught. Body is murky dark amber. Aroma is heavily hoppy (grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium to full body, creamy and velvety texture, lively carbonation. One-dimensional boring hop-only aroma, but fairly good flavor balance and mouthfeel for the style.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2007 GABF 05. Pours a medium amber with some floaties and slightly hazy. Sticky frothy lasting white head. Aroma is lots of citrus and pine with a lot of Amarillo- pine-sol like qualities. Flavor is very bitter with tons of hops. The rediculous use of 15 different hops somehow works out really well and I must have gone back to try this one at least 3 times. Awesome!

Bottle@SpontaneousWeekend08. Of course it has all the stuff you’d expect in a IIPA. But it’s there in a aggressive yet friendly way. Not to grassy or too bitter. Just well balanced.

March Tosa Tasting ala JCapriotti. Slightly hazed amber color with a moderate beige. head. Small amount of lace. Orange citrus and acidic pine aromas fill the room. Full and chewy palate, but still a touch of acidic bite on the tongue. Sweet lightly smoky malt with a continued bite/balance of pine and citrus. Certainly did not detect the strength of this one. A very interesting brew.

Hazy amber hue with good head and lace. Big hop presence on the nose, full pine and grapefruit, some wood and raosted malt also detected. The tatse was piney has expected with a bitter finish, while there was good malt undertone, it still wasn't fully balanced, but so what, enjoyable anyway. Lush yet aggressive mouthfeel. A big strong hoppy brew. If that's your thing, this is a beer to seek out.
