Hazy amber colour. HOPPY aroma. Flavour is also very hoppy and bitter with sweet caramel finish. Refreshingly carbonated. Great!

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 Pours a cloudy burnt orange with small quickly dissipating head. Smells promising with a strong presence of pacific northwest hops. Pineapple, grapefruit, pine and some caramel malt are all present in the aroma. The flavor is similar, with a lot of citrus and sweet fruit, balanced well with the malt, nice and bitter too. Full bodied and lightly carbonated, this is the definition of a well crafted double IPA.

Poured from a 700ml bottle into a La Fin Du Monde tulip glass.
The color is hazy copper/orange with two finger of foamy white head that leave nothing behind.
The smell is a bit of a funky hop aroma in the nose at first. Just poring it gives off hops in the nose. Upon getting a closer sniff there is some deep biscuit aroma and some earthy hop aroma.
The taste is lip smacking hops at first. The name does not lie as bitterness is the major player here. There is some bright citrus flavor that is packed in the lining of the bitterness. Some green grass or pine flavor comes out and then leads into a malty backbone.
The feel of this is a bit larger then expected and is a bit complex. It has a good drinkable body and ends with a big bitterness that makes my mouth tingle.

Classically San Diego DIPA! Awesome bright citrus hops. Alcohol showing but not in your face. Crystal clear, golden with a lace down the side of the glass. Bartender I’ll have another!

Bottle. I was lucky enough to get this fairly fresh. Pours a nice cloudy orange color with a nice ’’two-finger’’ white head, that leaves some awsome lacing! Aroma is filled with hops that are piney, citrussy and resinous. The aroma also has some sweet and caramel malts and alcohol. Flavour is extremley bitter, with a ton of piney and grapefruity hops! There is also a quite hefty caramel malty finish, with some sweet malts aswell, and it is fairly tart. I also get flavours of peaches, green apples, resinous hops, faint amount of mango, spicy hops and alcohol. The body is medium to full with a decent amount of carbonation, and a very dry mouthfeel (almost like some one threw sand in your mouth!). Overall this is a fantastic DIPA, and probably one of my favorites!

Bottle at Sorbon in June 09.
A little hazy orange color with rather small white head. Fantastic aroma of ananas, tropical fruits, citrus and hops.
Balanced, alcohol was nicely hidden. Long bitter finish. Very good beer!

Shared a 22oz bomber. Pours a delicious looking dark orange haze. What a hop bomb. If you like hops, this is for you. It just punches your mouth from the get go. So delicious and the alc.% is well hidden. Grapefruit and aweome bitter finish. Fantastic beverage.

Slightly hazy golden-orange topped by a generous creamy head that lasts for a while. Tons of fruity and herbal hops, some citrus and resinous notes as well. There’s a bit for every hop lover in there. Full bodied, just enough malt sweetness to sustain the massive hop bitterness that follows, so tasty. This hop bomb has always been one of my favorite, and revisiting tonight was no deception. Long resinous and grapefruit finale, alcohol really well hidden for 10%. A classic double (triple?) IPA.
