COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy orangey-brown with a thick white head. Wonderfully intense hops aroma, very sweet and bitter. Rich hops taste with hints of citrus and pine that holds its bitterness nicely. Wonderful Double IPA for hops lovers.

Homegrown Hop 15 on tap at Lost Abbey for the Saints and Sinners party. Very bitter aroma, of pine hops and grass. Huge, bitter, hops taste, very grassy and herbal, with pine and citrus. Still awesome.

Deep amber pour with a big, thick off-white head. Huge hop and spice aroma, with a little citrus. Flavor is huge as well with the hops dominating. Nice crisp finish. Excellent stuff.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass A- Pours a clear amber/orange/honey hue, head is a few fingers’ of white, craggy, frothiness that is mostly sustaining, good watery lacing sticks on the glass S- Nose is dominated by big citrus and piney hops with a nice backbone of sugar sweetness and some floral spice, really impressive T- Initial taste is tart and sour citrus (lemon/grapefruit) and pine hops that is complimented by some subtle sweet malts, some pepper and spice comes in midway with a bit of funkiness, finishes dry and bitter M- Medium-bodied ale, oily texture that coats the tongue and sticks around for a while, nice level of carbonation D- Surprisingly easy-to-drink DIPA, but that 10%abv will definitely sneak up on you, I know that this is a "hop bomb" but my West Coast palate is not overwhelmed by the hoppiness, rather this is much better balanced than other DIPAs owing in part to that honey/citrus sweetness that avoids cloyingness and takes you along for a tasty hop ride

Lots of head. Smells like a variety of fruits. I cannot believe this beer is 10% alcohol. It Is hidden better than any beer i have tasted. Goes down like a Flintsone vitamin, full of flavor. IPA’s are my favorite and this one is the best!

Bomber enjoyed on a warm sunny day. I have heard a lot about Pizza Port and was very excited to see this on the shelf at the liquor store. Pours a hazy golden color with a huge 3.5 finger width white frothy head. The aroma is a bit subtle for a IIPA but is very nice nonetheless. It consists of fresh hops, citrus, malts, and some pine. The taste is an excellent mix of hops, citrus and malt. This is one of the easiest IIPA’s to drink that I have had which is weird with the relatively high alcohol percentage. It finishes with a very pleasant hop bitterness. Overall an exceptional brew! I am excited to try more beer from Port!

22oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Sunset orange body topped by a creamy off-white head. Nose of citrus, mango, pineapple, caramel. Deep bitterness lingers as pineapple, citrus, tea, and pine flavors wash over your mouth. Ever so slight hint of alcohol makes an appearance toward the end of the glass. Very good stuff.

Murky copper with little head. Grapefruit, hops, pine sap, and citrus on the nose. Flavor is smooth with definite malt and sticky resinous qualities. Nice palate. Remarkable brew.
