COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bottle from Sparky27. Pours a dark orange/amber color. I held this up to the light and it looked like syrup, or a liquid malt extract if you are a homebrewer. It had several pieces of hops evident in the brew. Smelled like I was about to walk into a pine tree and roll in it. Had a heavy mouthfeel and went down very smooth. Seemed a little bitter at the beginning. It got much better as I continued to drink it. Had wonderful flavors of hops with a nice malt base to back it up. I need more of this stuff!!!

Pours a cloudy golden orange color, nice carbonation, nice small creamy tannish head which just stays there the whole drink. The nose is hoppy, malty, citrusy, nice pines, and caramel. The taste is mostly hoppy, some malts, nice touch of grapefruit/pines, and some caramel. The finish is bitter and dry, just the way I like it. Medium body. Very drinkable, finally got to this one, very very tasty, another awesome brew from Port.

Nice medium orange/hazy color. Love the small hop particles (?) floating around in it. Bold hop aroma citrus - grapefruit. Special thanks to Sparky27 for a wonderful trade. Hides the 10% alcohol well. Can’t get enough.

Amber with nice head. Beautiful floral, citrus, and somewat grassy hop aroma. Very smooth but very powerful floral, resiny, and citrus hop taste. Very subdued bitterness. Showcases the hops extremely well.

This is the gold standard all other double/imperial IPAs should be compared to. The hops are HUGE in this beer and Hop 15 has the malt backbone to balance it.

Creamy white head. Big Hop flavors. Aromas of sweet pinneaple. Syrupy in the mouth. High alcohol content without a strong alcohol taste. Pours as a deep copper color. A must for Hop heads. This brew comes and goes throughout the year, so when you see it buy at least a bottle because you may not get a chance next week.

This was one of the best beers I’ve had. Has a honey color to it, good lacing lasting head. Smelled like pine and hops. Tasted like hops, pine, citrus, spices, some floral notes. Very delicious. Finished with a pleasant bitterness and the 10% ABV was very well-hidden. Definitely recommend this one

Incredible....resinous orange citrus and spice. Salivating acidity with sweetness on the back palate. Loooooong finish hits all the sweetspots. Amazing beer. On tap at The Neighborhood in San Diego.:-)
