PilsnerPeter (1408), Flushing, New York, USA May 5, 2007 Updated: Aug 27, 2008 Growler: Pours a nice rusty orange color, cloudy with a thick tan head that laces. Very aromatic. Huge hop notes of orange, pine, light perfume hints and mint. The amazing malt depth balances the hop monster. Has a toasted bread characteristics & buttery toffee that blend perfectly with hop notes of orange-rind, peach, and pine needles. Finish is long smooth and bitter. An outstanding and balanced IIPA.
dwyerpg (2062), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 5, 2008 Really, the only thing that isn’t that good on this is the aroma. Little floral or citrus, mostly it just smells strong. The flavor however is all that is great about San Diego/SoCal IPAs. Very hoppy, crisp and tasty. Love it. maniac (1976), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2008 On tap at Lost Abbey before RBSG on 08/02/2008. Slightly hazy orange amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Big floral and citrus hop aroma. Big citrus and resiny hop flavor, very fresh. Medium body with moderate carbonation. gnoff (2580), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 27, 2008 (Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) On August 23, 2008 Cloudy dark brown color, white head. Sweet malty and hoppy scent. Sweet and bitter hoppy taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, high bitterness. kosko20 (87), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA Aug 25, 2008 Beautiful smell, hops in every variety, citrus, pine, spices, and fruit. Appearance, dark ruby copper golden gorgeous. Nice white head. Flavor: pine hops and spicy hops. Palate is also full bodied and very bitter, dry bitter. Great beer. I do love hops a lot and this shows off some good ones but also almost over does it on the finish. amish_caravan (209), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 scent is full of floral hops. taste is very hoppy and has some alcohol taste as well. alcohol is still pretty well hidden given the fact that it is 10.5%. finish is smooth. I would purchase this again.
