On tap 9/17/07 at PP Carlsbad. Amber colored with short lived foam that leaves ok lacing. Big huge hops and octane in the aroma. Flavor is just an obscene beating of alcohol and hops. It’s while I’m drinking this that I come to a conclusion about SD IPA, seems to be that if you just make a strong ass pale ale and dry hop the fuck out of it, the alcohol will help to extract lots of aromatics out the hops without adding very much else. It’s at this exact point that I realize that I may have reached the end of my hop head days. sob. Further tests are scheduled, me hopes this isn’t the end.

Nov 20, 2008 On hand pump, and it sounds like a different beast from other reviews. Strong caramel flavors, no really strong. Hops were tasty and very strong as well. While it was a great beer on hand pump, I’m now curious what it is like all bubbly. Crazy good palate on this one.

Nov 18, 2008 On tap at Stone Brewery. This was my favorite beer of the day. Huge hop aroma with peach and mango scents. The taste is just fantastic, complex and robust. An amazing DIPA and reminded me alot of Hop 15, I wish I could have tasted them side by side.

Nov 17, 2008 Tap. Yellow/orange pour, nice white head. Wonderful hoppy aroma, very fresh and piney. Taste was much the same, just a glorius beer.

Nov 17, 2008 On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours a hazy light amber with a 2 finger cream head and nice lacing. Nose is all pine and tart citrus. Taste is tart yellow grapefruit and caramel malt with a bitter resin finish. Medium mouth feel. Hophead’s dream. Great beer!

Pours a nice hazy golden orange color with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, pine, malt. Flavor is sticky resinous hops, grapefruit, malt, other fruity notes as well. NIce bitter yet sweet finish. This is an awesome IPA, one of the best i’ve ever had.
